looking to get some rims for my 01 Audi A4... its a white A4 and thinking of getting white rims with crome lip... whatcha all think bout that???

also, whats the differance in getting like, 1/2 inch lip in the front and 1.5 inch lip in the back? as far as the rim is concerned. not sure what the differance is, i would like to see a pic comparing this to just a regular 1.5 lip in the front and back as well.. i know on some cars it looks good, but others not so hot... anyone got pics?

its a pretty stock car right now, i want to get some 19"s for it and paint the lower plastics from black to white and thats about it. not too big into getting it faster right now. just want the looks for right now...

so can anyone help me out with this?? maybe get me some pics? i cant seem to find any. maybe with some white rims on a white audi and crome lip??? also maybe some offset rims to check out??

sorry to ask for your help here guys, but i know you all probably have hundreds of pics and i am searching google and cant find crap// thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

with FWD you can have a staggared set-up in the back if you want. but all i can say is that white wheels sound like they are disposable

tha5150
01-08-2007, 04:02 PM
disposable?? huh??

i see alot of cars with staggard rims and it looks hot.. as for the looks only of course is what i am talking about.. but could someone get me some pics with both please?? i STILL cant find any!

white rims=throw up in my mouth, but to each his own.

i would go with a darker center, or just a silver

they could look good with a polished lip maybe...i seen white 24s on a escalade with a crazy lip and it looked good.

dont do it, it doesnt even look good with escalades....

get a flat black wheel, 19" would look awesome. all black, no lip, it would look MUCH better

but this guy is thinking BLING BLING with white/chrome........no, you cant pull it off.....you cant.....not on a 150hp little car.....especially without getting it lowered/body kit(ugh, i said body kit) and without giving it some BALLS. :)

get the lowers painted, and go with black rims...all black, seven spoke maybe, it looks awesome.....go try some rim combos in GT4 and then get back to us. :D

see, that porsche looks bad ass with the white rims with crome lip.. just sits pretty. i am not stuck on this idea, just want some feedback.. i would definatly go with some 7 spoke rims though, thats a fact. with a little lip on it. i just wouldnt go another way. i am not sure i want to black rims on a white car though.. no me.. i think i am going to stick with the crome or silver (probably silver) or maybe the white. i am going to go home after work today and jump on GT4 (good advice) and see what i can come up with.... i would still like someone to photoshop some 7spokes for me.. on a white audi obviously.. i would but i cant. maybe white and silver next to eachother.. that would help me out greatly. thanks!!!

thanks to everyone for their responses.. thats what this forum is for... advice.. thanks!!

chrome rs4 reps. look pretty good with white to......

tha5150
01-09-2007, 10:28 AM
i think if im going to spend money for some new rims, i would get somthing that would make it stand out. not the chrome rs4 replicas or silver or whatever. although they DO look nice, i would rather spend a little more for an origional look.

i have been looking at the 5 star compared to the 6 or 7 start and i LOVE the 5 star rims.. deep lip is nice. but how much is too much??? whats the average size for the lip"??

on a white car, i'd say black rims with a polished lip would look sick

get 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the back. The back lip will give you almost a 4in lip...

Kreizy31
01-09-2007, 01:45 PM
but itll rub like a mofo...i have 18x8.5 all around and the lip is a good 2 inches.

d_maniac
01-09-2007, 02:00 PM
i have 19x8.5 all round too, in the back i can go bigger thats why i say he can get the 9.5 or even 9 (hes FWD)

tha5150
01-09-2007, 02:27 PM
wait wait wait. im confused.. all i want is 8.5 or 9 but definatly 19's.. could you send me pics of 19s and 18s with these lip sizes???

i see the pics you have up, are these the 18s and 19s you guys have? got some side shots?? did you lower these at all?

i am thinking of just painting my lowers and leaving it as is for now.. not looking to lower the car much.

but the thing is, im not going to lower the car, only paint the lowers to make it look lower than it is right now and put 19's on it. is this a bad idea or somthing?? i am happy with where it is right now. maybe i will change the exaust and get a chip later, thats it. i am not looking to make this a speed racer. heh. just make it look nice for a while..

did you paint your side skirts? or is that a body kit? how much drop did you get from the sport springs? price?

d_maniac
01-09-2007, 03:22 PM
yes i painted my lowers but have a rs4 bumper. With the sport drop you get like a 1.3inch drop or something like that. The spring strut combo was 700 for me but i'm not sure about prices today. With 19's and stock suspension you will look like a RAV4. I would buy suspension over wheels anyway, it just looks better droped even with stock wheels.

tha5150
01-09-2007, 03:26 PM
hahaha.. a rav4.. hahah.. nice comparrison.. like that one.. haha..

well, i guess i have my hands full with getting some more refinances going here at work. im a mortgage broker so i better get some more deals done huh. heh.. thanks for the suspension info...

as far as the staggard wheels on a B5, i would still like to see.. anyone??

Kreizy31
01-09-2007, 03:29 PM
if you put 18 or 19's on your car without lowering it, youll have like 3-4 inches of gap between the tire and the car.......and needless to say, itll look GROSS.

if you go 19, youll rub a lot unless you get a stiffer suspension and you roll the fenders...more work, ruins the ride even more

id say stick with 18...going staggered isnt worth it...and your fwd...stick with an even 8.5 all around....i have 18x8.5 all around and i have a good 2 inch lip on 3-piece wheels....gonna powdercoat them soon, so ill have some new pics soon, woot

Why stick with 8.5 all around if he's FWD??? That is a opportunity to go bigger in the rear....one of the FEW pluses with a FWD audi.

Jereme
01-09-2007, 03:36 PM
do you have the stock sport suspension...?

Kreizy31
01-09-2007, 03:49 PM
can you please explain the benefits in that......

i see a benefit on staggered wheels on a RWD since the traction is back there, but with a FWD youre just gonna be dragging more weight around where there's no traction. and its a bitch not to be able to rotate your tires..and he might need to rotate every so often with a mushy suspension and big big wheels to avoid gross tire wear

tha5150
01-09-2007, 03:58 PM

i am with you Kreizy.... i dont know why you would put staggard wheels on a front drive car. rear is nice with the rear drive. i think it looks cool too. but i dont know the point in doing it with front drive. i wanna see what it looks like though..

I grew up in Orchard Park and have lived in N.Buffalo for the last 8 years. I live right of Hertle on Fairchild...

And back to the iforged topic. Seriously do not waste the money. I had a set that I had for three weeks until I sold them for way lees then what I bought them for.
