Im up and down about the wheels not overall happy just because I feel the tires are too thick I might just have to run a 30 series tire after these go out. The tires are the New Falken 452 which have a bigger sidewall and not much stretch so it makes the tire look taller

just to be honest with you, i like your old wheels better..
I think something a little bit more goldish would be better than bronzish. maybe take off the yellow headlight film.

old wheels show'd more big brake love. thats my reason

I feel the same way you guys feel. The wheels are too bronzish and also it just doesnt seem fitting for some reason compared to my old wheels. I was planning on taking the yellow headlights off when I got the gold wheels. People were pleased with them today at the meet when they saw them in person but I am still not all for them

I LOVE IT....
Apparently I'm the only one... but I freaking love it...
I think the headlight film looks better with these wheels than it did with the black ones.
I dont know call me crazy but its so different that its pure sex.... love it. Major props...
Here is a quick pshop. a bit more gold would suit your personality.

I love them!! Pete, they look freakin awesome!! What tire sizes.....>Eric is doing the 20" Sportechnics on my new passat, and we are debating what tires to roll.

That is a high/flat sidewall for a 35 series tire, very interesting. Wheels look good, but like others I'd either remove the yellow headlight film or have the wheels resprayed with more yellow in the mix (a la JBM's PhotoChop).
And maybe I'm the only one but I'm not a huge fan of the black/carbon hood stripes. I'm more for the clean look. Even just leaving the two black oval secure spots would look cool.
But overall, big big fan. [cool]

I like the old look as well....maybe its just the color of the wheel, maybe Titanium Asphalt would have been better????
No worries you can always go back or sell these and change them again [rolleyes]

Never was a fan of the stripes but overall I think the car looks dope. The previous look was dope as well. Nice problems to have. Brotha gonna work it out.

Wheels look really nice, IMO the headlight film should go as the color clashes with the wheels.

Peter the wheels look good but just like some others said the more gold does look hot as well...in the end its your car and knowing you, your prob gonna sell them
Pete... coupld you do me the favour and measure what your sidewall height is?
I just picked up another set of 19x8.5 wheels and am thinking of putting the 452's on them.
I wanted to see what the sidewall height is compared to my Goodyear F1's.
1sicknickel
01-07-2007, 01:28 PM
I will once I get back home I suggest getting a 225 or 235 tire and also u might want to get a 30 series instead of 35
Here is a the For Sale Ad

Thanks Pete.
I was planning on getting the 235/35/19 452's all around and your sidewall remark made me rethink things a bit.
If the 452 sidewall height is similar to the F1's then I'm happy with the look... I just didn't want it to be much higher.

Pete those are hott in person, but now that I think about it, they are little too bronze. More of a gold color would hit the spot[up]

Hey Peter,
It's definintely the color and sidewalls throwing everything off. Those tires look like baloons for some reason. I hooked my buddy up with a set of 235/35/19 452s and they don't look like that. Maybe its just the photos. What size are yours?

I like the wheels but there seems to be a lot going on with colors as many have said. Keep it simple. The car doesn't need much to make it look good. I say call me... Because I have a solution for your headlights, keep the wheels and you can call it a day. Honestly though, I wanna run something else by you regarding our previous convo.

It's waste of money because you are putting them up for sale already! Chill dude. You said it yourself. You are not sure if you like the look. Maybe better if you have stuck with the SSR. In my opinion, your car was perfect with the SSRs. Hence my comment. Change is not always good.
You posted pictures and you wanted opinions, if you can't take the comments don't post pictures.

The reason they are up for sale is because DPE want's me to sell them and get new ones made because if we strip down the original wheels it will only make them weaker. I am not selling them to get rid of wheels and get something else, Im getting the same wheel but a different gold.

My vote is to go more bronze-ish. I added some bronze/dark orange to the wheels instead of more yellow. Gives it a deep bronze color instead of a washed out yellow/gold.

i still think it looks awesome. stands out too much for my style, but looks great. I had gold Rays Gramlights on my accord and loved it, but I'm getting old and don't want that much attention with the gold.
