We were in Sac last night and my kids got hooked on a Wii that they played at a cousins house. This morning I went to All the Best Buys from SF to Vallejo. Nothing to be found. Not even a damned controller.

Im gonna go to the Vallejo BB early tomorrow because they do shady $hit and dont tell nobody that they have em'.

Anyone wanna drop a dime on when an where?

Thats right. It is really at the managers discression though. lately they have just been throwing em out there when they arive, before they would wait until a saturday or something. Its very sketchy, the employees knew what was up when a ups truck would deliver un marked boxes to the front of the store, always ps3 and wii's. Your just going to have to get lucky and be at the right place at the right time.

Here's a valid tip: Target will be getting some this weekend. Which Target? That's the challenge. The tip came from a Target Manager in Colma/Daly City. If you call their electronics department (any Target store), they're pretty good about telling you when they're coming. Target *usually* puts their stock of Wii's out for sale on Sundays.

I got mine two weekends before Xmas. I went to Target Greatland in San Ramon on a Saturday - sales associate told me they were getting "a ton" that would be for sale first thing Sunday morning. He told me to get there by 7:30am (they open @ 8am) and that I would have no problem getting one. Yeah right. I decide I'm going to get there by 7am but actually arrive @ 6:45am. I was already #38 in line. Fortunately they received 84 that day.

If you're going to try and get it at Target, make sure it is a Target Greatland Store because they get bigger alotments than the regular Target stores.

You're right about the fun factor: my upper body was sore from playing tennis against my son and wife the whole day after Xmas.

nice. my roomate has one there a ton of fun. i got an Xbox 360 and one of my roommates has a wii the other has a ps3. its pretty badass..

the wii was dangerous tho, they had numerous incidents before they did a recall and added that strap thats on the controller.

PS3 isnt bad at all. Sony typically does the whole limited release before X-mas but NIntendo is bad. I just dont think they anticipated the demand because the release of the PS3 kept them on the down low.

as of this morning Target stores have a bunch available if your willing to drive. I got one in Morgan Hill. They had four left but would only let me buy one. Gilroy was suppose to have 24, Watsonville 27 and Tracy 25. I'm only 16 miles away from Morgan Hill so it was worth it for me. I just had the Target by my house call and ask them to hold one for me. yes there is a replacement program... they are not calling it a recall... its not really slowing down the shipments from what i heard... its an excuse... if you get the old strap... you go to nintendo.com. login, and tell them you want the new ones... they mail them to you... i got my shipment confirmation today. good thing too. a strap broke last weekend. the controller hit the wall, and no one, nor the TV was hurt : ) woot!

No Andre not a V1. I first picked up a Passport 8500 X50 then I didnt feel like doing the hardwire and exchanged it for the Solo S2. Both have saved me already. Even today in Palo Alto I had a cop on a motorcycle shootin his gun on the road on the way to Streetwerke.

Now between PA and home, still no Wii ;(

I can confirm the 21st as well. I scored mine from Target Greatland in San Ramon 3 weeks before Christmas. At that time, their allotment was 84 versus the regular Target in Dublin that got 40.

I think the games from Game Cube will work on the Wii. If you have it connected to the internet, the Wii can download classic games ie "mario", excite bike, kung fu, etc...

I will be getting mine on the 21st. I have confirmation from BB, Target, and CC. BB in Vallejo said they just received them on Thursday but will not put them out till 10am Sunday. This was the same for BB in Pleasant Hill Emeryville, and SF.

Got it!!! Nobody inline at 1am so I go home to catch a few zzzZZZ's. Got to Target at 5am and the line was about 40 in line. Went to Best Buy and only 2 in line. Stayed in a nice toasty car for an hour and jumped into line at 6am to hold the #7 spot. Manager comes out to pass out tickets and only 39 were handed out.

75% of the people left at 9am when the tickets were handed out. I knew controls were minimal and I ended up getting the last controller and had to go to Target to get another. While at Target, I grabbed the second to the last nunchuck.

Got done setting it up and the kids are going at it right now! Things fun and you can use any SD card to save games from what I can tell. Havent figured out how to get it networked yet because it has no Ethernet port. Im guessing its WiFi?

Also picked up the RAPALA fishing game for myself. Silicone skins are a nice addition also.

Lovin it so far. I connected it via Wi-Fi as soon as I saw the option. I didnt know that you had to pay for the old school games. Street Fighter II is callin my name. I thought the games were gonnna be free? I havent seen any old school NES games at the Wii store yet.

That fishing game sucks but it can be fun if your not getting skunked so much.

Hey M@T... I did the training part of the boxing and the punches dont land where they are intended. I have my RF thingy on top of the TV and its setup that way in the options menu. Do you know any way to calibrate the thing? I found something in sensetivity settings but that didnt fix it.

Ohh and boxing is the worst game to try to see if the thing is calibrated. Try golf and tennis. if you can do good at them, then its working fine. Boxing has an interesting way of sensing and correlating that to a punch.

Rapala has its pros and cons. I have only spent an hour on it so far. It took me nearly 15 mins to reel in a stripper last night LOL... Benny, we can trade for awhile if you want. Memory? I popped in a 1GB SD card that was laying around. Works fine for viewing pics and such but is this where games can also be saved? I checked the momory and all my games are being saved to the local memory. I think the local only holds about 512mb and didnt know the wii even had any because you always see those wii sd cards at the store.
