I think the white A4 with just the Test pipe sounds kinda Honda Civic-ish. The raspiness of the exhaust note doesn't do it for me. Sorry to i_fry_rice.

i don't kno why...but my test pipe only doesn't sound honda at all...
its actually sounds pretty deep, if you listen to it in person.

No matter how you slice it, it's a 4 cylinder car...it will never sound like anything other than a 4 cylinder. This is a fact I've learned to face after owning two 1.8T's and now the 2.0T.

I dig it though...the car with the exhaust and test pipe sounds pretty sweet. Great vids. [up]

Definately an awesome comparison, gotta add this to the sticky. So I was a bit surprised that the testpipe wasn't much louder, just deeper. I might have to go get one now. Lol

I wonder if I_fry_rice had a carbonio for that video. ( We need Defunkt on this post)

Now after I saw this video I want my exhaust more than ever, I think Christmas is coming allot later for me than for most.

i was wondering that too. i have a carbonio and awe exhaust sitting in my room as we speak, and now after watching that, may have to try to get that install apt moved up [up] .

defunkt's car has all three, TP, AWE, and Carbonio. I am not sure about the others.

I showed parks that vid just yesterday...planned to make a post about it, and BAM! HID on the scene! Thanks for getting me off my ass. :)

I've been busy moving twice and getting my roomate's B6 ultrasport hooked up. Look out for stylesP on the B6 forum.

Anyways, heres some info on the setups:

artic has stock exhaust + eurocode tp
black has awe exhaust + stock cat
quartz has awe exhaust + eurocode tp
All 3 cars have a carbonio intake.
All 3 cars are 2.0T

Too funny.

Ya' know....I went down that whole list of the exhaust set-ups and the Audi's win, hands down.
The video clip that you loaded, plus the video from the Magnaflow has me convinced that the Audi makes one great sounding little engine.

Among the worst:
BMW M3 sounded like complete, raspy, garbage.
G35 Coupe....wow - terrible, just terrible.
350Z was hideous.

I was surprised by the Mazda6 - sounded niiiice.

Oh, by the way, make sure you watch the rocket launch on the VW Golf III GTi....it's crazy.

Just the AWE sounds nice alone.
test pipe and stock exhaust sounds a little iffy to me.

They are turbo cars.

Turbo cars tend to sound good, no mater the displacement, however the are exceptions.

Audis and VWs are just right [;)]

Ps: Defunkt, I like the sound from your setup the best.

Yeah the test pipe replaces the catalytic converter. The setup I run uses both. I got the exhaust first and I agree, exhaust alone is very nice, especially the awe exhaust.

The test pipe did make it much louder and deeper, with more growl. Exhaust smell is increased. it also introduced some drone. The power gains are very noticible over exhaust alone and the turbo spools instantly...consequently my gas pedal is very touchy. :)
