Can someone give me opinions on a couple tires for my 06 A4 s-line?
size - 245/40/18
Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S or BF Goodrich g-Force Sport
If you have any other suggestions feel free... I'm looking for a tire that has good tread wear and good cornering performance with a price of around 200 per tire? The guy at Discount tire was trying to push Kumho Ecsta SPT (at $133/tire the price is right, but will I be getting what I pay for, I don't want to get something just cause it's cheap? opinions?)
thanks...

I've had decent experience with Kumho's. Considering the cost, they're a good tire.
Right now I have Falken Ziex 512's from www.edgeracing.com and I am very happy with them. The Falken's are a great all-season tire with a great balance of all-season condition handling without trading too much performance or tread life. I've had them on hot, cold, wet, dry, dirt, icy, and snowy roads so far and have been very impressed with them. The price was great too.
Of course, living in Vegas it isn't as necessary as it is here in Seattle to have an all-season tire.

I would stay away from the Pirelli's. They're a good tire but they cost a lot and they wear out very quickly. There are other brands that cost half as much and are twice as good.
What exactly are you looking for? Is it an all-season tire or a performance summer tire?

cool, thanks for the suggestion, I'll research them some more and check out some reviews...
anyone else with any suggestions of tires or opinions on the above mentioned?
Also anyone have any experience with tires that have mileage warranties? Are they a gimmick? Anyone have a tire wear out before the mileage warranty and get it covered?
thanks again...

I don't really have a need for an all season tire being that I'm in Vegas, but I want a decent tread life because I drive about 30,000 miles a year. I guess I want the best performance I can get (I'm a fairly aggressive driver, not overly aggressive, mostly when taking corners) while getting good tread life.

You could find a lot of info on www.tirerack.com and www.1010tires.com. I would get a tire with at least a 300 treadwear rating then. here are some options I would recommend:
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW NT Tires

My dad has the BFGoodrich tires on his BMW M3 and they stick like crazy. Don't believe the reviews about them being loud. Every low profile tire is louder than regular tires.

SPTs are great. of course, you'll pay more for more performance, but paying 50% more for 5-10% more performance... it's your call.
