Hey guys, I am coming back to the german car world after a short affair with a
350Z. Can you run an 18 inch staggered setup on a 2007 A4, and if so what offset would be desired?
Thanks

Do not run staggered wheels. You will get pregnant and you will die.

Okay, just kidding. You won't die.
The offset you should use depends on the width of wheels you want to go with. The most common is 8.5 front/9.5 rear. In which case, you'll want the front to be somewhere between et35 and et40. Rear, look for et35 to et42 or so.
I run 18x8.5/18x10 with et35 all around. The offset in the back is a little extreme for most people and yes, it will rub once I put my coilovers on. But I like how it looks so it's worth it to me. If you want to run 10's in the rear and avoid rubbing, go with a 40-42mm offset.
Tires are 225/40f and 255/35r.
When choosing tires sizes, keep in mind that the overall diameter should be as close as possible to avoid problems with the AWD. General rule of thumb is to keep the height of the front and rear tires within 5% of eachother. I prefer to keep it within 3% just to be safe.
Here is a handy tire size calulator to compare sizes:

And here are pics of my setup for reference.

I love the look of your A4 "Cap" but why the Benz center caps? Isn't that punishable by law??? [;)] JK...

Thanks. The wheels were originally on a Mercedes, and a new set of centercaps from HRE is about $250, so I'm living with the Mercedes centercaps until I can find a set for cheap on Ebay (the stock Audi caps are too small). It's been three months now though, so I think I'm just gonna have to open the wallet up and cough up the dough. [:(]
The car is a tad bit lower (and dirtier) now too:
