I just purchased some Axis milano wheels. The size is 19x8.5 front ET 35, and 19x9.5 with a ET 40 in the rear.... I know the fronts will work, but will the rears clear the suspension???

The tires I plan to go with are a 235/35/19 and a 265/30/19....

let me know if I will have any issues.

Also I have heard that it is not recommended to run a staggered setup on a quattro, but I think I will be fine considering the overall Diameters of the tires are equal... anyone have a 2 cents on this one?

Can't say for sure whether or not the wheels will rub on a B5, but the staggered setup will be just fine. Don't listen to people who try and say running staggered wheels will screw up the drivetrain. There isn't a single documented case out there of anything getting screwed up when running a correctly matched staggered setup. [up]

correctly matched is fine. the problem with drivetrain damage happening is when the overall diameter differrs too much between the fronts and the rears.

as for clearance, 1010tire.com has a nice offset calculator you can use as a point of reference.

cool.. that's what i thought...

I just wanted to confirm that the inner lip of the rear wheels will clear the suspension in the wheel well and what not. Everything else looks all gravy.

post some pics and let us know how things work out.

what would be the definition of correctly matched?

correctly matched meand that the overall diameter of the front and rear tires are the same. you can go wider in the rear as long as you use a lower profile, and the overall rolling diameter is virtually the same all around.

Here's a good tire size calculator to compare difference tire sizes to see if they are close enough in diameter.

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Rule of thumb is keep them within 5% of eachother. I prefer to err on the side of safety and keep it within 3%.

UPDATE- this setup wasn't even close to clearing in the rear... The front's needed 8mm spacers to clear the brakes, and even with the 8mm spacers on the rear, the wide 265 tires still rub the upper control arm pretty bad... I'm not going with a bigger spacer, cuz these things wont tuck by a long shot even with rolling the fenders...

time for a new setup..

The only axis wheels that clear s4 brakes are Axis Pentas. I am thinking of selling my set for 1200 and im in los angeles. brand new in box.
