...looks like garbage? I think it looks cheap in comparison to OEM RS4 and personaly I would much rather have a OEM S4. Discuss.

I think it looks ok because it hangs to low to go with S4 sides

I would go with S4 too, but can't find one.

doesn't look bad with the right skirts. There are worse out there though

I think the S4 front is ugly unless you take out the bar to do the "RS4 look" conversion. I also dislike plastic grills.

As far as the RS4 looking like garbage....I wouldn't go that far. Some have incoporated it nicely into the lines of the car. Others slap it onto an otherwise stock A4 and leave much to be desired.

Personally, going for the full S4 conversion is rather boring to me. Not worth the money at all when an A4 with painted lowers can look nearly the same or as nice for a fraction of the cost.

S4 w/ RS4 air way thingies is my favorite. I really don't like the reiger... those side gills kill it for me.

ofcourse the oem rs4 looks cleaner, but only if done right. most people try to mold it to the body of the car, and end up with two big bubbles on the bottom of the car where the bumper is too big. looks horrible.

overall the rieger rs4 is a nice alternative if you dont have the money to spend at a body shop. to the untrained eye who hasnt seen an oem rs4 front, it still looks awesome.

the oem s4 bumper never stood out to me, nothing special.

oem rs4 > rieger rs4 > oem s4

Ahh the real RS4 has side grille's as well slick! It's actually the rounding to match the Side Skirts that is different.http://assets.in.gr/dgenesis/assets/content6/photo/big/Audi_RS4_01.jpg

I think mine Rieger looks pretty damn good. Considering I bought it, painted and installed for under 750.00 I think it's a hit over trying to fit the PITA OEM RS4 to a B5 A4 which would run you well over 1400.

Comparison:

the rieger front looks ok on some cars, the only thing i dont like about it is that it is that the front looks too squared for me, if the edges were more rounded out it would look a lot better. but its not a bad looking front as is.

and then the OEM got chipped and peeled like a mofo shorly after getting it back. OEM was more than a Rieger RS4 and I like the Rieger so it stays I have validation for my actions and I'm sure others just like the look.

"Than life happened <picture goes here> and then the OEM got chipped and peeled like a mofo shortly after getting it back." I never said it was directly from the accident did I? Previous owner actually hit a deer I assume based on the respray and new windshield. Respray is bad if one doesn't prep and completely strip, which he didn't have done. The cost of stripping the old OEM and respraying was about the cost of simply buying the Rieger and spraying it.

i like everything, it al depends on how you build it. there are alot of b5`s with rieger rs4, with s4 and oem rs4 fronts, and all look very nice. but there are also some ricers that just slap it on and its all uneven and looks uuuuuugggglllyyyy!!!!!

this discussion just happened.

and OEM looks like shit on our cars without someone adding bondo/fiberglass to fill in the wrinkle/pinch it makes because our cars aren't wide enough for OEM RS4 front bumper. sorry looks wise...rieger is better looking. sure we all like OEM but we are talking looks and when on the ride the rieger fits better we all know this.
mines held up well with chicago weather and everyone always asks...is that OEM or RIEGER....I ask them to decided. and at that point does it mater.

My Rieger held up plowing half of South Lake Tahoe for 2 winters:) People ask me the same about it being OEM. As soon as my skirts get back from getting sprayed my car is gonna be be pretty much done aesthetically:) Then on to the building of the engine.

for sure the reiger is no match for OEM. its proportions are off, and it has sharper corners, but it cant be a replica or else they'd have to fight off Audi's lawyers.

and, done right, the reiger looks great, but it's hard to do the OEM wrong.

i agree with that!

this part not so much....OEM is a much harder fit. rieger is an easier fit. because OE is wider...you will pinch the bumper which makes it look like a wrinkle. so this requires some prep and doing fiberglass/bondo to make it look right.

either way...both done right....look great...we all know we all prefer OE.

Regardless of how easy it is for a professional installer (because so many car owners are pros at that kind of thing), the Rieger is still easier. For anyone.

Ok i'll construct my argument a little better, and know that i'm not hating on people with the reiger.

My issues:
1) The cutouts in front always look like they were hacked out with a dremel and just does not look clean to me.
2) Whats with the part below the side slats? Seems totally unnecessary.
3) The euro plate indent is too rounded almost like an after thought.
4) The casting just seems cheap, and unfinished, and plastic-ish.
5) In general I just dont think the proportions flow well with the smooth lines of the car.
Either way just my opinion, drink responsibly.

Lets just not get started on any aftermarket sides or rears...

again....nobody can tell the difference on mine....did my bodyguy just do that good of a job? maybe everyone is just looking for that wrinkle...i dunno...but i just don't get that cheap, unfinished, plastic thing...feels the same as the OE i've had both. repairing the OE wasn't working to my standard....i got it second hand....so it had a crack...but being in insurance industry and having a best friend who owns 14 body shops...i see a lot of things. all the bumpers feel the same to me with paint on them. unpainted hardly a difference unless we are comparing fiberglass to ABS/Poly bumpers....which is obviously a big difference. since you don't like it go OTTY or something else...or what is the point of this thread? that we don't like the 5 things about rieger? to each their own end of thread...i have a v2 rear which most hate...but i don't mod my tastes towards anyone but me. i think the thread just lost its point.

i have the reiger front, but not the skirts or rear. i dont think anything is wrong with thw front at all. plus im not going to spend all that extra money for an OEM rs4 front and the additional money to get it fitted. if you think it looks like grabage thats up to you, but i think it looks a lot better than the stock S4. its a lot more aggresive looking.

anyone remember seeing a behind the scenes tour of the reiger factory anywhere online?
Maybe AW or fourtitude feature, I forget, but it was an eye opener into the manufacturing process. It's not a horrible product, but it's cutting some corners over OEM stuff. I like some of the Reiger stuff but I was never really feeling the B5 stuff.

Exactly.

I think I like them both equally. The OEM RS4 is different enough for me to call it a different bumper than a Reiger RS4. I think after going through all the time and money fitting an OEM RS4 bumper, your going to have a real clean front end. But a Reiger RS4 can look awsome too, just different.

They both have to have some sort of matching side skirt to pull it off the right way.

My favorte is still the Kercsher. [:)]

I LOVE the seidl rear, the front is really nice too. I don't really care much that the reiger is overdone, where I am there isn't many Audis here, nevermind anything done up. I've always LOVED the look of the reiger, the only thing that has come close to changing my mind about getting one is that seidl peice. Also because with the seidl the rear, sides, and front will match perfect. I am not a big fan of the Reiger sides or rear. Who sells seidl anyways?
