nice... car looks good... exhaust doesnt seem too loud. What size of wheels are those?

12-17-2006, 07:34 PM
thanks. yeah the borla is not very loud. is more deep that anything. not loud enough for my tastes so im going to give the test pipe a try. they're 18's

sounds nice. car looks really nice and clean. good job[up]

It doesn't sound as loud as I thought it would. Does it drone on the highway at all?

12-17-2006, 07:44 PM
sounds good.. I expected it to be a bit deeper, but I like it!

Btw, is your car standard or tip?

12-17-2006, 07:47 PM
glad to hear you got it back finally..[up]

jumbo: i dont notice any droning at all. its very quiet and really unnoticable untill you punch it or get on the gas more than 'normal.'

panix: my car is a tip (if by standard you mean 5 speed). its actually deeper that the vid puts out. computer speakers cant quite play the true notes of the exhaust

sean: yeah it was about time!

These vids make me want a borla so bad.....I wish I wasn't the brokest Audi owner alive

Hows the power difference with the exhaust on the car? I keep telling myself that it's not worth modding my car as it's tip, and sell/trade it in for a standard (manual) shift.

Buying an autotragic, is the biggest regret I have with my car.. :(

No, I'm the brokest Audi owner alive... Heheh.

Sounds good man!

I've been thinking about doing the TP on my exhaust, since it's not especially loud... Would it be quieter without it? On my old SAAB, with a cat it sounded like a bat out of Hell, but without a cat it was a little quieter. (<< Both cases were directly off the downpipe or cat (no exhaust after))

panix: the power difference is still noticible even though its TIP. the turbo spools quicker and it just runs better. i regret buying a TIP as well but for the price i got the car for, i cant complain. id say mod it if you dont plan on going any bigger than K04. if u want bigger, sell and buy a manual!

Sounds and looks awesome man! Bet ur glad to have her back! You get a new grille?

12-17-2006, 08:30 PM
Did you actually buy a new complete borla cat back? I've been searching for a used borla or techtonics setup for a tip for over 6 months now and nothing!

I was thinking about just buying a borla muffler and having a custom exhaust done, welded after the cat.

tyler, i just painted the chrome trim black. it looks so much better.

panix, i bought the full cat-back system off ebay for 200 shipped (long story). it was actually off a 5 speed quattro that i had some buddies at Audi make fit. im not exactly sure what they did but i dont think they had to modify it very much at all to make it fit my tiptronic quattro.
i bet it would sound just as good if not better if you had your own piping made.

I have a full borla cat on my avant, and its quite a bit louder than yours for some reason =/

just got my borla installed, love it ! and anyone looking for a used exhaust for a tip, good luck. i searched for a year and found nothing. i finally broke down and bought it new because my DP cracked in half.

car looks real nice and exhaust sounds real good...can never decide what exhaust i really want....

i got a tip too...how much power do u feel after installing the exhaust...a lot noticible or just a lil bit??

did u throw the s-line emblem on beneath the air vents?? i kinda like it...

12-18-2006, 05:08 AM
Th85 to be honest i didnt feel to much power right off the line, but the car does respond a little better.
sorry audisport12, im not tryin to thread jack, just sharing some insight.

TH85, its a S4 emblem off a buddies hood grille that i sticky taped on.

i didnt feel much power off the line either but i can definatly tell that the spool comes on a little quicker.
