Well yesterday I went to Westwood, NJ to buy a chip from Aliel and have it installed by KMD tuning, I don't have any supporting mods other than an N75 "race" valve. I honestly was doubting a chip would bring me any content. I really did not think any tuning on the k03 would impress me. Don't get me wrong, I knew it would be faster though. The first run in my car definitely seemed impressive, there is no doubt. But there was still that dreaded lag and "go nowhere" feeling on the highway I was hoping to overcome. Well let me tell you, this thing has nooooo problem reaching 120. It moves. After 2 hours on the highway driving home, I honestly think the car got used to the chip. It seemed much quicker. I was anxious to test it out, so later that night I called my buddy with his Audi TT 180hp. We ran a few times, and I pulled pretty nicely on him, by 100 I was a couple car lengths I think. Keep in mind he beat his brother with a GIAC passat by a lot. Today I went for a rip with my friend with a stage 3+ S4. He couldn't believe how fast it was, we actually spun 1st and 2nd (it had been raining) but still I've never been close to spinning before. Overall, dahlback's A4 chip is pretty nasty, I'd recommend it over anything else (I've driven 2 A4's with GIAC chips). If anyone has any dyno numbers, help me out. And I would estimate that thing to run real low 15's, maybe high 14's with a great launch and exhaust.

my friend had Dahlback chip in his car, it was a 97, he put a ko3 sport turbo in when his ko3 blew, the car was really quick, i liked the tunning better then my GIAC ko4 file. ran really smooth and pulled nice.. glad to hear you are happy

I'm glad you like it. I told you Dahlback Tuning is no joke LOL. You even saw it compared to my PC-16 and it isn't much slower than my setup off the shelf. Now it's time to change your sig.

The only downside of Dahlback is that it isn't produced in big numbers like GIAC and APR. Hopefully after Danny deals with the website and the new location they will be more popular.

Anyways enjoy man and it was nice meeting you yesterday. You'll have to come over again when I'm done with my car so I can show you in person [:D]

I'm out to go my final now.

Ya the Dahlback chip is really my only option as I live about 45 minutes from there shop and they are the only tuner in the area. I'm just wondering what the cost of the chip is in the States. I wouldn't be surprised if we pay more here in Sweden.

will they be making a k04 file anytime soon ?

I've heard they've already got a K04 file, but only for the Dahlback K04. Apparently they did some modifications to it o get more power out of it....but don't quote me on that. If you check out their website, they're turbos are REALLY expensive, so I figure they've gotta be different than the K04's most people have on here......I've also got the Dahlback chip in my car. The thing hauls ASS in just about every gear. I just wish I didn't have a boost surging problem....then i'd be able to see what this chip can REALLY do

Make sure the N75 valve you have is the correct one because I been having surging in the past because of some N75 valve.

i heard your sales tax is killer

The chip will probably be 800 EUR and VAT should be 20%

Yeah, I've posted on another thread about Dahlback but to sum it up, Im really satisfied with it.
Unfortunatly, I havent had any other software to campare it too but it sure has improved the performance on our a4.

I dont think anyone has done a "only with chip" with everything else stock comparison.

Hey Aliel, did u fix that n75 "race" valve? if so which one worked?

I just put the stock valve back in and got a boost machine to control the boost. Now I have a Greddy Profec-B.

Dahlback can program it to work with N75 race valve.
When I called them, they said they have programs for both stock and race n75.
With the race valve, I hit 21,22 psi's in the mid rpm ranges.

The thing is, i think Dahlback has their own n75 race valve, which is different from the ECS one. I had an ECS race valve running with my Dahlback software, and it surged like a bastard. But when it held boost, i was hitting around 23 to 25psi......it was great, but I was afraid I'd damaged my turbo by surging, so....I'm currently looking for a new n75.....Anyway, the guy I bought the ECU from told me that the Dahlback N75 is the same as the N75 "c" valve. I believe the ECS valve is the same as N75 "j".....So, make you sure specifiy which N75 you want a program for before you send your ECU to get reprogrammed

12-13-2006, 10:55 PM
Hmmm. Thats something new. I got a used n75 race valve so im assuming its a J valve or is it K? Also, its hitting 21-22 psi.
All I know is that the dahlback I have is tuned for a n75 race valve.
Now whats a "c" valve and how do you tell what valve you have?
I didnt see any letters on the n75.

48855
12-13-2006, 11:16 PM
Ok, ECS race valve is actually an H valve.
Dahlback is using a K valve. Im gonna have to check tommorow if what I have is actually a K valve.

a gti is a heavy car, i think the weight difference is only a couple hundred pounds if not less. its also fwd, so yeah, i would imagine a race to go exactly the way it went down
