To all you B5ers running Sparco,Recaro and other racing/competition style seats.

Beside swapping out brackets installing seats....

Does the car throw a airbag code? or any type of code at all?

I am thinking of getting some but thats main thing that stopping me.

I am 1999.5 A4 1.8T q

Yes it does. When the airbag system detects a problem (like missing seat bags) it pops the light on and shuts the whole system down. The system will stay down until reset with a VAG-COM or similar device.

Use the search function in the upper right hand corner of the screen to search for seat airbag resistor. You'll find all the info you need.

This is one of the things that should be in the DIY help section. It seems to come up a lot.

Be sure to get a couple of small zip ties too.

Zip ties, a packet 4.7 ohm resistors, Audiworld (for pictures) and VAG-com. It's very very easy. I feel like I should take a picture of what I did and do a little write-up for posterity's sake, because I don't think there's a real one here. When I get home (next weekend) I will get on that.

Yuikio: could you take some pics and do a little write up, I remember seeing a write up somewhere on here, but I think it was lost during the attack :(

Once the seats/brackets are put together putting the whole thing into the car takes a few minutes since it just slides into the stock rails, then just tighten 2 bolts and slide the front into the stock clip.
