Daily Driver and road race 99.5 A4 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic

Stasis Tracksport Suspension [up] or [down]

2.8 Engine Mounts, RS4 Engine Mounts or 034 Mounts?

034 Snub?

Tranny Mounts?

I already have the ASP Drivetrain Stabilizer.

Thanks for the input.

i would say search but it would definately take you a while for all that and i can only take me a min so..

tracksports are good but maybe street sports would be a little softer for a dailey driver.. bilstein PSS9's would be good because they have great damper adjustabilty for the same price as the tracksports(search those and you'll find some good stuff)

2.8 [up], RS4 [up]

and 034 snub is also [up]

What are you planning for power? What about tires? The power and traction will tell you what mounts and clutch you'll need. A K04 is fine with S4/2.8 mounts. A bigger turbo could go with those or the stiffer RS4 mounts.

I would get 600lb(F) and 700lb(R) for the tracksports.

I will be running 15's and 17's (Winter and Summer)

I was going for a gt35r, but after some more talk with people, I am going for a more mild setup for a bout 250-300-whp. I do not drag race so I want a quicker spool and more broad power range. I will probably do the RS4 mounts.

Probably the best road course turbo for a built 1.8t is a GT2871R. You get a nice wide powerband with about 330-350awhp. It'll probably do it on the stock head but a built one would let you run 4500-8500 rpm no problem. With just Scat forged rods and a basic rebuild I'd run 8000 without worry.

15" wheels in the winter would seriously limit your brake choices. You wouldn't even be able to run A8 rotors. The A8 rotors with Boxster calipers will fit under stock 16" Swing wheels.

I am going to go 034 snub, rs4 engine mounts and gt2871r. I am shooting for 300whp on stock block/head. See how long that lasts and then rebuild when needed.

Also, ER fmic, Revo or unitronic tuning, and genesis injectors.

Any suggestions on injector size?

^it all depends on what the software is written for. for the ones you listed most likely 440cc

and good luck with your build.. im still trying to figure out what im going to throw under my hood.. im so indecisive [headbang]

What are you doing about your tip tranny? Torque converter / valve body upgrade or are you gonna wait til it breaks?

as far as a full elim kit im diggin renn-art right now. great price and they're using unitronics for tuning instead of craptastic mika from atp..

and oh god you're TIP? you going level 10? no wait scratch that. IPT(import performance transmissions) or 2Bennett Racing would be better for that

^^lol(It is just a challenge[:D] )

I will probably wait till it breaks. I have GIAC Tip Chip and I will be running 034 snub, rs4 engine mounts, and stock/allroad/other? tranny mounts. Also, I will have a ASP DTS on there. So it may be good for a 2 months. I was going to get a TC right away and then valve body and full rebuild at L10, but we shall see.

I will be running stasis streetsport (maybe tracksport, but I feel they are overkill for the 5-10 track days I will be attending.

nice, but you're going to do the clutch when you do the BT anyways right. might as well do the TC since you have the tranny out anyways..

and i don't have any first hand experience with the PSS9's but i do with the tracksports. they are great but just aren't as easy to adjust the dampening like the PSS9's, at least from all the research i have done on them. you can turn the knob on the PSS9's to the hardest dampening setting for the track, then you could turn them to the softest for the ride home.. and im pretty sure they're cheaper than the tracksports right now.. anyways, just my thoughts on the setup

Who has the pss9's for a good price? I will look at Euro Styles East, etc, but I have not seen them in a while.

Why would I have the tranny out? Clutch?

Call up Tomasz at StartupRacing He should be able to give you a good deal on the PSS9's.

yes, you'll need to upgrade the clutch with that turbo. or any turbo that has more power output than the ko3..

ecstuing has them. i don't know if they will be cheaper than what RyanSA4 just suggested

thanks for the site ryan, I forgot about that place.

The bil's are like 1800+shipping. I would almost rather get the tracksports due the custom aspect of them.

on a tip you shouldnt have many problem with the mounts i would do the suspension and such and worry about mounts when they actually go out. you hardly have any drivetrain stack in a tp

Go drive a stock WRX with an auto tranny before dumping a bunch of cash into your car. Make sure you'll be happy with the total lack of power down low. You'll either need a high stall speed convertor or a teeny little turbo to get an enjoyable drive out of an automatic. I had a 1994 Saab 9000cse automatic with a 2.3 turbo that made 200lb ft of torque at 1850 rpm. That thing was mean around town and felt like a small V8. By contrast, a stock WRX has more torque but not until a little higher in the rev range. It crawls from 0-10 mph and then rockets off. It is a wierd thing to get used to. I didn't like it at all. Your mileage may vary.

Hey King, have you read Tomasz writeup about the PSS9's? Very interesting...

Boost: My mounts are on there way out, I can tell when I am braking, etc so i will be doing them at this time. You are somewhat correct, there is a lot of play in the driveline, espcially with tip. It is that "dropping out from under" feeling when you let go of the gas.

Onemore: I understand the lack of power down low, I have that now to a certain extent. When the time comes to upgrade the TC, I will be researching stall speeds and options.

Ryan: Thank you for the link. This reassures my going towards Stasis.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it everyone
