I use the filter from the dealer. They have a new larger one out that is supposed to prevent engine sludging. Mine takes about 4 liters of oil give or take a 100 ML.

Search or take my advice....

I use 4.5

like i said, i tried a search already.
i believe the manual says 4.5, but my buddy mentioned to me that his takes shy under 4 qts.
i know that w/ a bigger filter that everyone recommends it ups the capacity, just wanted to make sure.
i've wrenched on turbo cars for a while and i know by exp. owner feedback is the best source for info.
at least i didnt ask if a 1.8t is better than a v6...

Thank God for that!

My B5 takes just under 4 quarts of oil, and I use the larger mobile 1 filter, part number 301 I think at autozone.

thanks Quattro and chuck. the manual actually says 4.3qts, but everyone has a different answer. looks like imma have to find out for sure the old fashioned way.

Mann Oil Filter part number: 068 115 561 B
Uses about 4.2Q to fill it. Its a filter from a diesel engine, but its what is recommended for out engines.

**sidenote** I laughed at my dad when he changed the oil in his 97 Accord. The honduh filter was a 1/4 the size of our filters lol.

^^haha, yea my brother is a nissan tech so whenever i go change my oil at his shop there are always all these tiny ass filters lying around.. then he and all the other techs laugh at me when i pull the audi's filter out of the box.. it's a laugh riot [:D]
