just wondering which one is better to do ?
and do people do the front and rears or just fronts?
id like to keep it even i hate huge brakes up front and tiny ones in the rear.

There are a lot of consideration for non engineered BBK's. My experience has been frustrating with the older VW's. Mushy pedal, bad biase and poor stopping distance. All of this related to MC piston size and caliper piston size incompatibilities. I've learned the "hard" way. This was before engineered kits were readily available. Close attention to technical details is highly recommended with any brake system change.
What i did for my 98 A4 2.8 QMS was to upgrade the rotors to x-drilled and kevlar EBC brand pads. For the power the car has it was a perfect match for any type of street driving.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

i don't think the S4 brakes fit for B5's.

TT carriers with the A8 rotors. Then if you wish, you can get the Porsche Boxster caliper.
Had this on my 98.5 A4...
