Mostly all 6.5'' speakers fit the doors. And i think 1'' tweeters. You should rock some Audison amps and Rainbow Components. I like eclipse subs as well as JL. Both are pretty innefficent though.

It all depends on your budget. I researched for weeks on car audi forums to assemble a list of decent equipement without spending a bunch of $$. There is definately the law of diminishing returns when it comes to car audio. I was looking for a great sounding set of front components to match up with a good single 12" sub. I'm all sound quality over spl. It doesn't have to get really loud and I certainly don't plan on vibrating my new Audi apart. [;)]
From all of my research, these are the 6.5" component sets I considered in order of preference:
A/D/S 346cs $200.00 shipped
Alpine SPX-177R $220.00 shipped
DLS UP6 $265.00 shipped
CDT EF61CF $220.00 shipped
I went with the A/D/S set because a long time forum member who I respect greatly basically said I was stupid for even questioning qetting sound quality competition grade speakers for blowout pricing vs. midrange speakers at midrange pricing.
Subwoofers are WAY to subjective to give recommendations. I believe I know how bass *should* sound and it's not the sound that 90% of society thinks sounds good. I was going to go with an eD 130v.2, but in the end I'm purchasing a 10" Alpine Type-X in a small sealed .75 cF enclosure that I'm going to feed 600wrms with a mono block class D amp. I considered 1000wrms for the head room, but I'm not certain where the Audi's electrical system is going to give up on me.
The front components are going to get 75wrms/channel. I'm hoping the system will be properly balanced bass, mids, and tweets. It should be...

If you want the A/D/S 346cs speakers, search for them on fleebay. I place out of Florida is selling them for $200.00 shipped. Might be more to Canada though.

I loved my a/d/s/ setup in my s4, i had a/d/s/ speakers in the front setup in kickpanels with my tweeters in the pillars along with speakers in the rear doors and 2 12in a/d/s/ subs all powered by a/d/s amps. this time around i went with jl amps and subs and focal speakers.

Do a search for Metra 99-9102. It's Metra's double-single din dash kit for the 2002+ A4. All you need to do to make it a double din is cut the center bar out. It's recessed from the face plate so you'll never see the cut marks if you do a bad job of cutting. [;)]
Here's a pic for you (click me). (http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/product.php?productid=2465&cat=0&page=1)
I think Crutchfield has been the cheapest place to buy one if you can believe that? [eek] They get $35.00 for it. That's where I'll get mine from if I'm ever inspired to upgrade my head unit.

I just noticed that your cup holder is different than the U.S. B7s. With the U.S. B7s, Audi replaced the cupholder with a credit card slot and other placeholder slots.

Yes we still get the useless cupholder. The worst thing is that i cant even find a beverage that sits nicely within the stupid thing. The only thing that came close was a X Large Coke from McDonalds. [down]
