Well, about 1 o'clock this morning I was on my way home from shootin some pool with a buddy. A girl decided she would cross the road, without looking apparently, and nailed me. Intially she hit my front left corner. My car started to spin and then my rear left door hit her car. It started to spin the other way and my rear right wheel hit the curb causing a wee bit of toe out. And here I am. Sitting here at my apartement asking for rides to school and feelin sorry for myself :(.

I pray to god it's totalled. If not, I'm screwed. What I've figured so far is this:
Hood
Fender(s)
Front Bumper
Left Side skirt
Rear Left door
Minor to moderate engine bay work (hard to tell)
Head light
3 wheels, yes 3
possibly 1 or 2 tires
and some suspension work.

If y'all have any advice, I'd sure like to hear it. BTW, the airbags didn't deploy :(. And yes, I'm dissapointed in myself for letting my wheels get that dirty.

Oh god I can't even look at threads like this anymore. Makes me so sad. Seems like the A4s got a curse.

I'm sorry to hear that.

My front and rear bumper got all strached up in a month meanwhile the car was parked all of those times. My bumpers used to be in mint condition.

Sucks man. I think it would be a waste to repair that. Now you need to think about what kind of car you want [up]

i think i might park my car for a while til this curse lets up. this is just too depressing. i love your car, and especially those rims..

but why would you be screwed if your car wasn't totalled? it wasn't your fault and you have a decent amount of mods in there... but i guess it won't be the same car once it's fixed

juju4uofa
11-17-2006, 01:07 PM
That's the thing. There will be probelms with that car until the day I get rid of it if it gets fixed. It's more so the suspension than the body I'm worried about. Anyway, hopefully whatever happens will be for the better.

damn homie... [:(] hope you can get another a4 or s4 out of the deal.
did the girl stop?

11-17-2006, 01:12 PM
Yeah your biggest worry will be frame issues.. If it's bent it's hard to get it right again. From glancing it looks totalled.. I've seen cars get totalled for less damage than that. The car just may never be as smooth as it was..

Sucks man.. I just bought a beater because of all of this shit.. A bunch of 'non audis' here in C-bus have been in recent wrecks... November sucks.

Good luck [up]

sorry for your loss. like mine, please don't forget to pour some on it before you say goodbye if it is totalled..yeah i was pretty heartbroken when mine was..it sucks because youre sitting in your room while you should be driving. if the frames bent don't try to fix it, it might never be the same again..and maybe not safe to drive. Mine came back to me as a b6, but its definitely not the same..b5's forever! [a4]

Sorry to hear about this, and I hope everything works out for you, but now for the bad news. It's not woth it to fix [:(]

You will be better of just buying another A4, or better ... [;)] , because of the headache involved with trying to fix all the possible damage to the suspension, and frame. Make sure you don't let her off the hook, and make her pay for everything.

A sad day indeed ......

holy shit man. i saw the thread title and then who posted it and was like... oh damn. ive always loved your car. if i could have another A4 i would get a silver one with B7 reps just like yours. from the looks of it, she is totalled. im sure it tweaked that front frame rail a little. to comfort you some, my car was totalled too. but im repairing it anyways. good luck on finding the next one.

11-17-2006, 09:16 PM
Words cannot describe how much I would love to replace this with an S4. Problem is, I'm still in school and am now more broke than when I bought the A4. So, whatever insurance gives me is what I've got, no exceptions :(

Mine was hit in August, rear fender and bumper hit. Got replaced for free, but the shade of my right tail light is slightly darker than the left for some reason =/

That really sucks man. Your car looked really good. What part of Alabama do you live in? I used to work at United Auto Collision in Auburn

I'm actually at school at UA, so I'm living in Tuscaloosa. I've got a lot of friends in Auburn.

Man, that definitely sucks. I hate to say it, but be prepared to have it fixed. I was in an accident about a year ago, and I thought for SURE that the car was totalled. Everyone that saw it, even the tow truck driver, said "no way they'll fix that". And guess what, a few weeks later I was driving the same car. It all depends on what value the insurance company assigns, and at what level they consider it a total loss. It sucks, but I wouldn't get too hopeful until you know some more details.

Totalled?please... doesnt look like it to me... a new rear door, bumper, hood, lights... maybe because of the rear wheel bent like that is totalled? i see no frame damage.

Damn bro, i am sorry. Hope is total and you get decent $ for it.

11-18-2006, 01:07 PM
You are very close to being totalled. The total tally so far for fixing my car from a front end collision that was not as severe as yours is 6200 and couting. This is on a 98.5. I cannot believe it was not totalled.

you obviously dont realize how vulnerable that front frame rail is. also, its going to need alot of suspension work in the back. i say juju is going to have to find a new whip. my wreck wasnt near as bad as this and my car was totalled.

It looks like it will be totaled. most insurance companies will total a car if damage is 70% or great than cars value. Since you are the claimant you have a little muscle over how much they offer you for the car. Make sure you let her adjuster know what you have in the car and have your Receipts ready.

Then you can buy it back and sell it to me as is [;)]

most insurance companies total a car if the damage costs exceeds 50% of the cars value, with the rental car fees and everything else included in that 50%

Definitely depends on the insurance company, and usually the specific adjuster assigned to the case has a lot of say in the final decision. Sometimes the age of the vehicle makes a difference, too. There aren't any standards that insurance companies have to stick to across the board.

For example, my insurance company considers repairs worth more than two thirds the total amount to be a total loss. I know this, because I totalled my car a month ago, and that's why I'm driving my Audi now! They have a specific formula for determining the car's value, but it varies by state, as does the payout amount in the event of a total loss.

Again, thanks for the kind words guys.

I had Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

My insurance comapny, ALFA, told me 75% and it was totalled. Hopefully, if it is, I'll get paid well for it and still be able to part out the car.
