Hey everyone. I have a 2006 A4 quattro 2.0T. I've been looking into installing audi's iPod adapter, and was wondering about how good the radio dials and buttons are at actually toggling through the different iPod features while the ipod is hidden in the glove compartment. Also, do any of you recommend any other iPod adapters? Pros and cons??

Thanks

Since you're new I'll help you out. [;)]

I have a Dice Electronics iPod adapter and really like it a lot. There was a recent discussion on the B6 forum that you should read...

If you have any other questions after that, I'll try to answer them for you.

How do these types compare with the FM transmitter types, I use a FM type from Monster that works really well in my A4. Are these other ones that much better?

I think how well the FM transmitter works depends on where you live and the density of FM signals. My transmitter works great as long as i'm not downtown and even then it's just a little bit of static. I bought the Kensington RDS FM transmitter at Best Buy for 60 bucks. It is awesome because it transmits the artist and track over RDS so it shows up on the HU and on the DIS between your gauges. If there were a better hardwired iPod solution that didnt require an aftermarket HU I would've gone that way but for now it works great.

EDIT: I didnt really read the previous post that well now that I think about it....oops. Anyways I don't think it's worth the extra money for a hardwired option at the current time.

Using the FM transmitter the sound is horrible IMO. Even a tape adapter is better. Song information is nice but rather have a better sound quality.

If the sound quality is better then I would be interested. Using my monster FM transmitter, It works pretty good most of the time. Its not perfect but for the money and the portablity of it, I just haven't seen another product that I like better and is worth the hassle of installing.
