Looking for an older S4 and found this one. Looks VERY clean and has 80k original miles. If you guys would, take a look and tell me what you would pay for it. He's asking $16500 and that is too high.

Thanks fellas [up]

The price is way too high and performance upgrades don't add value to the car. I"d consider it a steal at $8500, but would be willing to pay up to $12,000 for one in such prestine condition.

BTW, I'd seriously doubt he'll get $16.5k for it. Hell, $16.5k is about right for a nice B5S4.

What about this:

75,xxx miles. Pearl white exterior, black interior with carbon fibre trim; meticulously maintained; all service records. Many upgrades (post-66K miles): MRC Stage III chips; VMAP; RS2 bits; Forge BPV; Samco Hoses; Stromung turbo back exhaust; HRSB; '95 Avant subframe (for correct HRSB fit); 92 urS4 springs (lower and stiffer w/o camber issues); Koni Yellow Sport Shocks (plus associated front bushings, boots, etc); BIRA System 6 Brakes; engine currently produces about 370hp and 390 lbs-fts.

Same deal???

Those both look like very nice cars, and low miles from what I've been seeing. I'd say $11-12k for both of those. That is pretty high for an urS4 though imo. I'd say you should be able to find one for $8-10 in good shape with only a few more miles.

Also if you are looking to spend that kind of money I'd seriously consider a 95 or 95.5 S6.

I think I'm actually going to go with an '87 4000 Turbo. Has 80k miles and is cherried out. I dunno, I change every week.

Thanks for the heads up Rob T! I was in Breck last weekend, man it's beautiful up there right now.

10v turbo or 20v turbo? Both are conversions as the 4k never came with a turbocharged engine.

Right I remember we had that discussion earlier. I am not sure, waiting for the owner to get back from Sema.

Dude, I am so swayed. I found two more Ur's for sale. One with 164k miles and RS2 engine conversion , porsche brakes etc ($9500). The other with 135k miles and MTM ecu, konis, MTM hoses etc ($7000), but needs TB done. I thought last week I was going B5 S4 for sure. Wish I could get this over with.

Need some console and help Max [confused] [;)]

Whats are your plans for this thing?
is this just a track car/fun car or is it gonna be a commuter?

Ur parts are gonna be $$$ and hard to come by. The turboed 4k will be much easier to get parts for. If your plans are for a track car, I'd get the 4ktq for the economy. If I wanted to roll in a cool rare audi as a commuter (which is what my 83 coupe is) I'd do an Ur-car.

Hope this helps.

I think I am picking up a 91 GTI for a daily/project this evening. So the "Other" car will be a daily/fun car for the winter also. I go back to Chi town in Jan and will be taking whatever Audi I get out there ****Quattro*****. Wont see the track any time soon... just coming off of my B7 S4 and need to maintain some level of excitement while reliability.

I hope that 91 GTi is a 16valve lil monster. Be sure to check on when the last timing belt replacement was done as that car has an interference engine.

I picked it up last night. It is actually an 8v but it somes with a ready 2.0L 8v with high rev springs, new cam etc. The car has a full exhaust, ugraded front and rear brakes, VR6 strut brace and motor mounts, bilsteins and Neuspeed springs. The guy worked at an air cooled shop here and he has all kinds of cool stuff to go with it. Great project car with some NOS stuff and near perfect interior.

$2200 bones I am stoked

Not only do I like the color (of course), but the wheels look great as does the interior. Good find!

Thanks Max, it is identical to my old one, same neighborhood I sold it at in fact.

I still need help deciding on the Audi. Hopefully I'll find out about the 4000 tomorrow and look at the black UrS4 in Denver.

where do you keep finding these urs4's?! i check audifans every once in a while but hate when people are selling them for outragous prices with such high miles. 15k for a old audi with 160k miles?! nah....

but yea, i STILL want a damn urs4 but i cant get over convincing myself it would be reliable enough to drive daily.

Well Stevo, craigslist seems to be the spot as well as s-cars.org. But the one Im purchasing was actually on ebay in PA. I have emailed and spoken on the phone with the owner and it worked out to be a great deal. I found one with 70k miles so hopefully reliability will not be an issue.

There is one in denver, highly moddes with 160k for $9500 and a pearl white one here with 135k stock for $8500. I'll keep my eyes peeled

Our ur S6 avant has 206K miles on it and is our choice for 1K mile plus trips (at least 2 a year) over our 01 S4 Avant because it is much more reliable.

The high prices are probably right. These cost a lot to get the bugs out of. Once they're all straight they'll last forever though. I'd suggest getting out the checkbook.

Yeah Steve, when you do get one, make sure it is in the condition the owner says it is. Take it to a shop for inspection if possible. I actually have a written agreement with my seller that if it is any condition other that what he stated that he will offer my money back.

Paid $6700 for it [;)]

Yeah, thats right. I sold the Explorer and the B7 S4. I definitely made a sacrifice but two 2.0L+ turboed engines with software etc will surely make it worth while!
