brancky3 what software are you running? does it only allow you to rev to 6500? it seems like youre not using about 1000 RPMs of the power band with that big gt2871. my gt28r pulls all the to 7200

The rev limit is at 6800, but the tach seems to lag a little because if I let it rev any longer than 6500 like in the videos it will hit a brick wall.

I really need to get the limit raised, it will be a huge difference I think.

Software is a tweak of a GIAC k04 file IIRC.

I plan on running this chip, I'm not changing it any time soon. Right now we are waiting on a response from GIAC to change the rev limit, so we'll see what happens.

Yea GIAC advertises a 7100rpm limit everywhere, but for some reason mine only goes to 6800. Weird and frustrating.

who tuned that K04 software for you ? also are you running a full GT kit or is it a elimator kit ?

Vastperformance tuned the software and it's an elim kit.

It went 13.0 @ 107.2mph on my first initial tune and stock fuel pump, kinda effed up the shift to second too (I hate to make excuses but it's true). I need to make it back to the track before it starts snowing.

no dyno sheets, hopefully soon though, that was 2 turbos ago, it spools late in first and 2nd gear, prolly 4800 or so, but once it finally has some load on i, it would make 13lbs at around 3500 rpm, but that was also a pretty small exhaust housing which helped

First and second maybe 4200rpm, 3rd-5th is around 3800.

Mine starts to spool before 3k, but the RPM's I posted is when it hits 23psi.

There already is a specific file made for those injectors. To try and make pc-16 work on a 2871 just to save $400 is foolish

The antifouler doesn't work for me. I'm sure there's a few other reasons the CEL is on, namely the secondary air pump that's not connected.

Kinda hard to see in your vids, but i took mine up to 155mph like it was its job. When you combine a shotgun testpipe,carbonio intake, 2.8trans,gt28r and Aprs 104 oct file, its downright crazy.

BT is not the size of just the turbo.. it's the relation of the turbo size to the stock turbo size(ko3 or ko4). if the turbo is bigger than those then it is considered a BT

question.... how do you select APR files on their stage 3 kit.. i supposedly have 93/100/103 files.... 98.5 a4... i remember reading somewhere it was with the cruise control? And you do need to run HIGH octane gas to run the higher octane files no?.... im left running 91 or 92 octane on my 93 file because thats all I can find around here in lousey KC MO

Turbo is much louder from the cockpit and outside, really sounds like a nasty snake, SICK ! i love it, even after all the bullshit. The turbo spool actually overcomes the milltek exhaust sound

Not running more than 18psi for a few reasons:
I'm on a really rough base tune, about 11.8:1 at WOT, so it's a bit lean..
Also, I heard yesterday that with the 2.5 bar map sensor on the 034, it's not safe to run more than 20psi (news to me, and doesn't quite make sense because 2.5bar = 35psi about.)

Anyway, I'm going to send the 034 out and get the 3bar map sensor so I can safely run high boost and I'm installing control arms this week and fixing a minor fuel issue, after that, expect some nice numbers and better vids :)

#2 The reasoning behind the 2.5 map is 2.5 - 1.0 (For atmospheric pressure) = 1.5 bar for boost.

So you can actually get away with 22 psi, not 20 psi.

Either way, it seems to be running pretty good right now.

Who are you having do your tune? Jeff out there at Sleepers? He did some work for me on a Jetta I drove out from Indiana. I'm sure he remembers lol, he had to drop me off at the airport lol and pick me back up. If I ever decide what route I want to take I will have him do my retune, regardless of what I do lol. He did an amazing job the last time and squeezed 100whp and tq out of the tune that was given by HPA without changing anything mechanical.

i hit full boost at 4000rpm. 5th gear I hit full boost at 3700 and in mostly every gear I have 10psi by 3400, this turbo is great on the street..
As for the wastegate, I think I'm going to port it back to the downpipe because it's getting a bit annoying. It's a 38/40mm tial and with my home-made dump tube it sounds insane.
my only complaint is the turbo noise itself. my car sounds like a mac truck, it's the most irritating noise ever. So irritating I'm tempted to go with a 2.0 and a 35r just to get rid of the noise! lol

I love being able to alwas tweek the car and have total control over everything. last time it was on the dyno at 19PSI it make 338HP. since then went to a tial 38mm external wastegate, SPEC stage 3+ 240MM clutch with Alum. flywheel and new coil packs. Going to do a dyno-retune on 25PSI with a 50 Wet shot, MSD DIS2, and open exhaust hopefully pretty soon

the setup is fantastic. that video is at waterfest and it put down 377 awhp at 27 lbs on about a 104 mix; as for satisfyed i want more power, but who doesnt....realiablity wise great besides the first two weeks, ive been daily driving it for about 7k and it really hasnt skipped a beat

all in all my favorite car and ive owned a few. not to mention nothing beats being thrown hard in your seat by a wagon

Yeah the temps and humidity didn't help, plus there was a good 15-20 mph head wind going down the track. Maybe they should have turned the dyno around to face the other direction and they would have had some wind on the front of the cars which would have been better then no fan at all.


Only thing that was going to help any car that day was going to be a shot of nitrous.[>_<]

Well wouldn't the track be the best place to do it, plus you get a nice piece of paper to show everyone what you did. Have you done a BAT CAPS 3rd gear log of 4500-7200 rpms? Maybe we should start one that is 4500-8k for people that run their cars to 8500 and make peak power above 7500 rpm.

I have a 3rd gear log from 6000-8140 rpm at 2.29 seconds and 5330-8260 rpm at 2.79 seconds.
