Is there any way to adapt xenon headlights to LED housings? The housings in my 2009 cabriolet are crumbling, along with all the wiring inside. All the insulation has become brittle and falls off with the slightest handling. I'm looking for a way to upgrade affordably, with new housings, and convert to LED. All the housings I see for sale are from Halogen to LED, and of those almost all the text that I see does NOT apply to cabriolets. I believe any used parts will also be in the same condition internally, with wiring that's begging for shorts, or cracked bulb reflectors, and mirrors on the way out also. If not possible for a conversion, is there any way to "rebuild" the housings, with new internal reflectors, etc. My current problem is one of my city lights and DRL has a broken reflector. I've searched, but most of the results deal with halogen to Xenon, and are older.

Thanks in advance!

Best bet is to buy new, or slightly used set, but not cheap. It is very common for the wiring to become brittle, so new is your best bet.

I myself rewired all the internal wires of my headlights, with some 18 gauge wire and heat shrink solder joints. so far has worked well, and it took about a single evening of work for each headlight(while also fully disassembling to clear corner and Joey mod)

the Xenon headlights are already better then any LEDs you can get, and if your up for it, give it a shot on rewiring the internal harness. it was hoenslty more work getting the lens off (use a heat gun, slowly and it will split open) and then getting the pins out that the rewireing itself. Just make sure to put all the pins back in the right spot or youll get turn signal headlight and high beam turns...

I'm doing some custom lights now, and was gonna replace the wires, but wouldn't know which type of pins to get for the harness connection.

No, i got a pin pulling tool, and unpinned the connectors, and just heat shrink soldered them a inch or two from the cable. enough that the head shrink covered the copper but not the pin itself.

if you do find out, please post what the pins are actually called, as i couldnt find what their specs are
