Hey y’all, just bought my brand new wagon and she needed a clutch. First time ever doing a clutch job and after 40 hours in my driveway, she’s finished. The clutch pedal is giving me trouble, though. It has little/no resistance, and does not return when pressed to the floor. I just tried bleeding the system, but there’s no change.

Did I install the clutch or throw out bearing wrong? Those seem pretty hard to screw up.

Maybe the push rod in the slave cylinder isn’t aligned on the clutch fork? Also, the slave cylinder comes in and out of the rubber seal pretty easily, I put it back on how I found it but maybe there’s a problem there?

Can an old timer help a diy idiot out please?

Fellas - done some digging - looks like the pushrod in the slave prolly isn’t lined up with the clutch fork. I had no resistance putting the slave back in, bc shit, I’ve never done this before and didn’t know I was supposed to experience some resistance. Hopefully pushrod didn’t fall into bell housing, going to take slave out tomorrow and try to realign. Wish me luck.
