So i have been having some really rough coldstarting in the winter. And have got the p2004 and p0304 codes but no cel. Should the intake flap lever move freely by hand when car is not running because mine isnt. I did carbon cleaning in the summer and the lever did move but the intake manifold was off. I havent got the codes for 3 months now but the rough idle after startup is still persistent. 2.0 tfsi 2006 a4 b7

usually rough cold start is PCV but imagine you did that already .. i wouldn't imagine the flap moves by hand but i have never checked.

If you installed the linkage wrong, it won't move.. it can install in 2 locations, 1 being wrong.
Will cause misfires on cold start.
The p2004 is "flap stuck open" code.

nvm the shaft does move i just tried to move it to wrong way i might be retarded lmao. but the rough idle when cold starting is still persistent and it only does this when the fuel system is in open loop is this normal in these cars.
