View Full Version : Front seat rear panels: how to slip off?

Sorry to ask an old question, but my searches have all come up with a few posts where the the details I want to read are no longer viewable (stale videos links or stale photo links).

I want to tighten up the sagging map/magazine nets on the backs of my front seats. I have fresh elastic with matching braided sleeving and hope to just thread it through the tops of the nets, remove the old elastic, then anchor the new elastic inside the panels. The netting itself is also a bit slack, but this will be a good improvement.

The panels should come off easily, but I'm finding a lot of resistance and don't want to split or tear the panels.

I did find a parts drawing of the panel, but it's tiny and not very detailed. I'll guess:

Do I pull out on the bottom to free those clips, then compress the sides to release the middle clips, then lift the panel up to free the top hooks?

Thanks all...

i have 2005.5, and my rear plastic cover is loose becuase the glue to the clips gave out. Ill take a pic of the back, but i belive it has friction pull clips like the carpet for the trunk does. should be able to just pull on them, but the parts are old and i suspect you glue is just going to let go
