Whoa, they made an R version of the V50? Never seen that before. So you're going to head out there and get it? My sister did that when she bought her Volvo a few years back... said it was a blast.

Last I had checked they only had the V50 R Design (basically Volvo's sline) which is still a beautiful car. Thought about going that route myself for a while, and MY2010 is the first one available witha manual. Good luck!

you can get a V50 and a V50R and they have different drivetrains.

I like the Volvos and I love the Swedish countryside, but I prefer my Audi. To each their own. Have fun in Göteborg!

Just a reply to my own post after seeing what my buddy wazzu put up...you can have the V50 in the standard 2.5, as well as the T5...throw the T5 in with the R-design and you're looking at a sporty little wagon.

Well Im not going anywhere as Im keeping the USP B6...but have decided on the v50 R-design becuase of the manual transmission, which wasnt avail on earlier models.

I basically got clearance from the tower(wife) but a stipulation was selling one of the audis.

Having owned and OSD 850 Turbo Wagon (Saved my life) an S40 and an S60R I can tell you its not worth it. Throughout my ownership experience I was unable to find even one reliable dealer/service department capable enough to fix even basic issues. Also, there are only a handful of tuners available. The most reliable, and extremely professional being IPD (www.ipdusa.com) however they deal mostly with P1 Cars (850 Turbo-real FWD beasts) Stay AWAY from Evolve.

I was waiting for someone to say something first cause I didn't want to be a jerk, but it's not worth it. My parents currently own a C70 and it sucks. They bought it after loving their old 850 wagon and have regretted it ever since. 42K mi and the turbo went, 1st ecu 7K after that, then 2nd ecu like 8K after that. The thing is still PLAGUED with lights on in the dash, and to cap it all off I know its a convertable but does it really have to drive like a clapped out ford Taurus??? I would NEVER think about buying a volvo after this...

Maybe so, but our Audi's are not the pinnacle of reliability either. Most of the Volvo guys laugh at all the maintenance the VAG guys go through.

What year C70 do they have? Does it have the T5? That is supposed to be a pretty solid engine. And the R's have always been maintenance hogs

It's an 850R, that's about all I know. Save for the fact that it gives me a boner.

They have an 02 C70 with the T5. Also the fit and finish is terrible. I hope volvo has stopped using that rubberized plastic stuff that makes up all the bottons and knobs in my parents car. After a few years it looks like crap, scratches easily, and always feels slightly sticky no matter how much you clean it. The radio always comes uncoded, if you put the windows down all the way they make a slight chirping noise, omg I could go on and on...lol...but anyways I think you have a beautiful A4 and am sad to hear its going to a new home...good luck with your Volvo!

Agreed! Unfortunately the 2011 C70 got a facelift that I am personally not very fond of.


They did the same thing to the C30 which is a shame because that was a rad little car before.

Yeah Ive had it for about 6 flawless months....no reason to sell other than my wifes stipulations. Car runs perfect, especially now....but thats how it ussually goes for me..once its close to perfect...I sell it. Great car no issues but just need something new..I cant keep racking up miles on my USP...and I cant daily drive a stage 4 clutch, its a bit heavy.
