FIRST OFF I AM NOT A COMPANY. I AM A PERSONAL AUDI OWNER AND ENTHUSIAST. NOT A SPONSER OR SALES MAN.
Alright everybody. I am fully aware of the conflict and topic of discussion on the Stock AirBox vs. Aftermarket Intakes.
I have designed an intake shield like none other. I would be happy to prove to anyone that my shield is fully functional and better then the stock application.
Composed Of
-Durable custom bent/cut aluminum for quick heat dissipation and light weight.
-Custom rubber extruded seals/edging for proper seal and cosmetics.
-Relect-A-Cloth Special heat reflective pad to reflect heat/ and keep exhaust air to the engine side. Over 90% reflective of radiant heat. Reflectivity @ 3000 degrees F- 15 seconds and Base Fabric Service is 1100 degrees F. Used in SCCA and professional race cars.
Testing
-Although I don’t have exact numbers because I don’t have a laptop to test with the Vag-Com (If anyone is willing to help I would be happy to supply real numbers for proof).
After numerous track events and spirited drives of heating the turbo to a glowing red fire ball you can touch the heat shield on the intake side (which is 1-2 inches away from the turbo) and feel barely any warmth and the filter feels cold to the touch. The shield is cut to fit within the engine bay and seal the intake area off from the engine side/heat. Once the hood closes it seals with the hood.

Note: Old Design Shown here with a EVO CAI/Filter sold separately.
I currently have a patent pending and would like to keep this a tuner mod rather then release this idea to some corporate company who will jack up the price to slap their logo all over it.
If for any reason your not satisfied with this shield I will refund the purchase price once I receive the shield. I am going to be making these on a first come first serve basis and made to order.
Matt, this looks very interesting. I will poinder it for a day or 2, I dont know how much of a difference this will make for power. but it certainly cant hurt it.. how does it go around the TIP and does it sit like the EVO heatshield, with 2 bolts stuck into the bottom?
do you have to remove the tip, and other hoses to get it in? let us know the install.
It currently will only fit stock/K04 turbo cars. I would be happy to make one for bigger turbo cars however its hard to design with out having one on hand. I will meet with a few local BT guys and see if I can work with them to design something. I will keep you posted.
As far as the B6-B7 guys..... I would be happy to modify/design one for you guys but I will need a local donor car to come over for fitment and try out the design before they are available. So local guys come forward.
Matt
if theres a waiting list for the next batch you whip up if your doing the $50.00 promo deal for the first five i'd like one also. Even so definately put me down for one. This heatshield looks really solid rather than some old backyard mechanic work!

Alright everyone. I see there is a large demand for these as I imagined. I am in the process of moving right now so I will only be making the initial (5) in the next week. I will be making alot more in the future so no worries there. I have a list for all the people to contact once I have more. This should be in the next couple weeks. I am working with a fabricator to make large quanities with laser cut precision. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INTEREST!!! I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS POSTED.
Ted- I will contact you in a couple weeks as well to develope the B6 shield.
I am going to write a FULL unbias review on fitment and also functionality of this new Heat Shield. I have a EVO CAI and also a Forge TIP, so we will see how it fits around those puppies, also, I will be running some logs with intake temps with EVO heatshield and then with the new Mattshield..
