I am getting the materials tonight!! Yours will go out this week for sure!!!

ALL OTHER B6 1.8T'S - I WILL START CONTACTING YOU GUYS WHEN I GET SOME MADE. AT THIS TIME I HAVE TO MAKE BRACKETS FOR ANYONE NOT RUNNING A CURRENT EVO INTAKE. ONCE I HAVE THEM I WILL POST PICS AND LET YOU GUYS KNOW.

So basically if you have the EVO intake installed I can make you a shield that bolts right up.

    Thanks

Great news that the B6's are coming!

Do you plan to produce one utilizing the Carbonio v1 intake or do you think the EVO intake one will be able to be utilized without much modification?

    Still very interested!! >)

    Re: Heat Shield

A few questions have arose regarding if it will work with the stock intake box. I have never confirmed this but think that it might. I will let you guys know when I find out for those that are interested.

    The cost is $90 shipped.

If anyone has any questions please let me know.

    Thanks

Yes of course. The B5.5 Passat has the same basic design as the 98-2000 passat right? I mean that they didnt shift stuff all around. Do you have a picture I can look at and then I could tell you if its the same. I can have one ready tonight.

    Paypal: Snowboarder1921@hotmail.com when your ready.

    Thanks

So if I purchase this heatshield, what do I need to do to adapt my intake for use with a cone filter (like others pictured earlier) ? just start removing peices? Do I need any additional tubing? etc...

All you need to do is remove the stock air box and then take the MAF sensor out. Once that is out you reconnect it to the intake hose and then hook your ne cone filter to that. Make sure your MAF is flowing the correct direction and the filter matches the size and fits nice with your MAF. I have been working on making a filter holder for those of us without the EVO set up. I will let everyone know when thats complete. Also, You can buy the shield prior to this new bracket. They will be seperate and you will have no problems running the filter without a holder for a short time until the bracket is complete.

Yeah I have had a few requests to make a bracket to hold the filter as well as the shield. (Although the shield really doesnt need a brace. I have a few designs going and ideas. Nothing solid yet. I really have not had the time to develope this yet. I changed a timing belt, watrepump, snub mount, installed a front mount, changed a cluctch and flywheel all this holiday weekend in less then 2-3 days. Not to mentions ate a bunch of Turkey and spent time with the family. Needless to say I was way tired after this holiday weekend.

I will prob order this during the week (after i get paid) and put a fujita filter on it when i get it...

how about sound? with the cone filters i imagine the car has to sound much better? i assume this adds some power too, how comparable to say the carbonio or other intakes?

Thank you for all the reviews guys. If anyone has ideas on how to improve the design or just have ideas/questions please PM me and let me know. I am always looking to improve my design or make custom applications for others. I have alot of work to do still will fritments to BT excluding kits with stock manifolds or K04's. The standard one fits with those but I also have to test fit with the stock air box's and other intake setups.

I will keep you guys posted. Sorry for delays but I do this on my free time.

    Thanks

    Re: 1.8t ~~~True Heat Shield!!!!!~~~~

Alright I met with Mike tonight and confirmed a exact fit with the stock B6 & B5 model A4's. The heat shield will fit with the stock intake box's. I also fabed up a SWEET filter holder for us guys that save 200+ dollars on a aftermarket set ups and receive the same gains. I will post more on this tomorrow.
    Night

    Thanks

I can send some out tomorrow and then again on Tuesday. It really depends on when I get the money. I can get them ready in one night. So what I make tonight will go out tomorrow and what I make on the holiday will go out on Tuesday.

    B6
The Heat shield for the B6 mounts right to the stock airbox heat plating.

    B5
The Heat shield for the B5 has some modification required. You will have to slightly bend the stock heatshield on the stock airbox near the turbo oil feed line to allow clearance for the shield.

I am working on getting all the options together on a website so that you guys can see the final product in each vehicle and the options available when purchasing. Now I have a few cars and options available I want people to see what they can get.

Those interested let me know. Look for new information again soon.

    Matt
