What is the asking price? Current miles? Vin? When or has the clutch ever been replaced?

I know the history of the car from about 75k miles and the clutch has not been done in this time frame.

Price is about 7-10k high in the current market, just a heads up...

May want to clarify if a manifold removal and carbon clean was done or just an "intake treatment". One improves performance, the other is marketing fluff.

    GLWS, car looks great.

The fact that you would have to asked a specific question to get an answer shows there is something to hide. “Doesn’t have a timing belt” well obviously it has something to maintain timing (I.e. belt or chain...) timing isn’t kept by karma. 120k seems to be on the early side of concern for timing, tensioner, and guides for RS4’s but for the cost of the service and the price of the car it seems fair to ask.

You're doubling down? Nice. It doesn't mean there's anything to hide - it just means that you are not educated on the B7 RS4s. Timing sets on these are not prone to failure and they aren't typically a concern, even at these miles. No reason to specifically mention them.

What? I'm not sure who you're addressing, me or the seller (hint: I'm not the seller). I've got no motivation to lie to you, B7 RS4s just don't have timing chain issues. I've never heard of someone having issues, and these cars are 11+ years old with lots of high mileage examples.

    Actually, yeah.

Seven 2007s on Cargurus for under 20k, ranging from 110-146k miles.

    Recent Manheim results for 2007s:

    12/13/17 $12,000 106,219 miles
    12/8/17 $18,000 82,836 miles
    11/29/17 $15,200 144,720 miles
    9/6/17 $24,000 70,720 miles
    8/24/17 $21,600 112,000 miles
    8/17/17 $13,900 122,067 miles

Sorry those numbers are a jumbled mess, AZ doesn't like my formatting when I copy from Manheim.

So, a price of $29,999 is indeed about 7-10k high. Also, the OP is a dealer who is posting cars without an advertiser account.

    I agree with @Foreplay.

For someone wanting to quick sell it, it is over priced and just wont generate any interest. Maybe if there were a realistic price with offers accepted.

I am trying to help a friend out selling his car. He doesn't get on forums. I figured this would be a good place to list an RS4. Also you can't compare a car from the auction to a retail environment, of course there will be a price discrepancy. Here are retail comps:
$26,700 with 81,468 miles in UT
$24,999 with 108,816 miles in OH
$22,995 with 112,486 miles in NC
$20,490 with 106,650 miles in TX
The one I am selling also comes with the stock wheels/tires. Just dropped price to $28,000 with everything.

You should note that the car has the Euro steering wheel, which is a value adder.

    Additional comps:
$19,990 with 106,650 miles in TX
$19,991 with 110,441 miles in TX
$19,999 with 122,323 miles in MN
$19,999 with 123,071 miles in WA

The car is worth 20-22k in a dealer retail environment (KBB has it pegged at $21,067).

But wait, I thought you were selling for a friend, not as part of your dealership, right? KBB private party is $18,565.

It's one of the best looking RS4's for sale right now. Seems to be well taken care of too. Owner knows what he has. Its in better shape than 95% of RS4's for sale. Two sets of rims, rare color combo, nice steering wheel and expertly detailed. Coilovers, tune and nice upgraded sound system?? C'mon.

If its really as clean as it looks and the engine is still solid, I can't think of what I'd rather have for $25k.

Don't listen to most of these people. $19k is stupid low for a car in this condition. That being said $28k may be a tad much. I'd fairly price this around $26k, granted there are no mechanical faults.

On what planet is an '07 with 116k miles worth $26k? I didn't just pull $19k-22k out of a hat, it's from comps that I provided (both retail prices from online listing sites like Cars.com and Autotrader and Manheim auction results). Car likely needs a carbon cleaning and is on the original clutch.

For reference, I sold an '08 Mugello with Ti package that had new tires, new front brake pads, recent carbon clean, and 85k miles for $28k, and that was a year ago, so the car was only 9 years old. This car is 11 years old, 30k more miles, etc. The current market values an '07 with >100k miles in the high teens, low 20s. That's reality.

I tend to agree with you. Low mileage maybe, not over 100k. Interior is rare though!

Unlikely, as that was roughly the going rate at the time (Q1 2017) for the miles/condition, and prices are even lower now. No way this car is worth $26k was the main point I was trying to illustrate. Maybe there is a sucker who would pay that much, but I doubt it.

That pricing exercise you did could be considered if it were for an A4. However, for an RS4 the same logic doesn't apply.

First off...if an RS4 makes it to an auction, then I highly doubt its one to write home about. If its a good one, most times it'll either stay on the lot at full retail, or more, or go to a local wholesaler. There hasn't been a $19k RS4 that looked anywhere near as good as this one that I can ever recall. Manheim just doesn't apply. You threw a bunch of other prices up there and that was without even comparing the condition of the cars. There are a few $25k+ RS4s for sale now, with 95k+ miles, that have been in accidents.

The reality is that these cars were only made for 2yrs and are getting harder and harder to find in pristine condition. Someone who is looking for an RS4 most likely knows what they want. There are a lot of factors....condition, miles, color combo and location. There are people looking for RS4's that have budgets that'll allow for a $50k purchase, but they want an RS4. Do you think they are going to sweat the difference between $23k and $26k when the right one comes around that is close to them?

This is not much different than the market for the 03/04 Cobras. Only a 2yr production run where the Mustangs made 30yrs before it and 10+ years after it couldn't replicate it. A special car. Pristine ones sell beyond book value all the time.

$25k for this car is not crazy. $28k and needing to sell ASAP is another story.

It's always amusing to me when people think RS4s (or any mass produced car) are some special unicorn that defies traditional pricing methodology. It's not a super limited vehicle that doesn't have readily available or accurate comps because of low transaction volumes or unreported sales (like a 275 GTB NART, Tip 33, or pre-war Bugatti). It's a decade old sport sedan that, in this case, has been driven a ton and has $3-4k in deferred maintenance. Dozens of these cars change hands every month, so comps are readily available and accurate. These cars are not appreciating or even holding value, therefore, comps are the best and most accurate way to determine price. The "same logic" absolutely does apply.

No, I think they aren't going to buy an overpriced 116k mile car for $28k when they have a $50k budget. They'll buy a <60k mile 2008 for mid-30s with all issues addressed and be done with it.

And a hypothetical buyer with a $28k budget isn't going to buy this car either, as you can get a better example with everything addressed for the same price.

    For example:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...esign-Interior

2008 with 7k more miles, but new tires, recent carbon clean, titanium package, exclusive interior, $3750 cheaper.

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...V8-420HP-24500

2007 with 21k fewer miles, recent carbon clean, tons of recent maintenance, $4000 cheaper.

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...Coilovers-REVO

2008 with 9k more miles, recent carbon clean, fairly new clutch, titanium package, exclusive interior, $9000 cheaper.

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...S4-Sprint-Blue!

2007 in rare color with 23k fewer miles, recent carbon clean, new brakes, new axles, new clutch, same price.

Those 4 are representative of the market - if the clutch and carbon cleaning were done to this RS4, maybe you could hope to get $25k for it, but $28k is well above the current market, especially with those needing to be addressed soon.

I stand by my original valuation of $20k-22k.

If one had a $50k budget, one would buy the $40k Imola.
