Hi everyone, I have a 2010 A6 3.0T that I want to make sound mean. Saw a few videos of things that I like such as just muffler/resonator deletions that got some good deep sound and Iím trying to do it rather cheap. Any suggestions?

specify what you imply by "cheap", lol. By far, best bang for your buck as to getting the sound you want, is to upgrade the mufflers. Be it Magnaflows, Borlas, etc... A pair of good Magnaflows and tips should run you ABOUT $300.

You CAN delete the center muffler with an X-pipe, or straight pipe that. In theory it should make it louder, but the stock mufflers do a damn good job at keeping things quiet, so I think that even if you do that deletion/ upgrade to an X-pipe, you may not get the sound you want. What I would do is start with the mufflers, and if that's not loud enough then look at things further upstream.

Look backwards in this forum, and you should find several threads about exhaust modifications. The latest was started by Kneel and it is called Xpipe/Exhaust Mods I found that on the 3rd page of our forum. I also happen to agree with 95blkmax, as his logic is hard to argue with. Good luck, and when you get the sounds you want, let us all know what you ended up doing.

thanks for the input. Do any of you know about what downpipes will work for the c6 a6? my left cat is going bad and is creating a pretty good leak along with the right flex pipe which is why im trying to just go with perfomance exhaust instead of trying to fix it to stock. will universal cats work? or should i get whole new downpipes

Magnaflow 11235 Satin Stainless Steel 2.25" Offset Oval Muffler https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CCFIY4?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

As for downpipes, I have no experience. When the time comes, I will probably do high flow cats or just delete them all together and go with test pipes.
