    Becker Performance Exhaust for 3.0L V6 S4

Im sure all of us have seen enough comments and posts asking about the Becker Exhaust. Id thought Id try again here and see if anyone has taken the plunge and installed one. I have reach out to the manufacturer (which I believe is OBX) for more information and sound clips.

The way I see it is that this is a nice looking knock off of AWE or Milltek for less... and it also leaves some money to experiment with adding an exhaust valve like the IPE or FI options. Our cars really should have came with a valved system in the first place.

At around $900 for the cat back system, you could spend another $200 or so on vacuum controlled valves at the rear mufflers and have a flexible system. Just need to figure out how the muffler internals look....

    Let me know your thoughts.

I'm all about saving a few bucks, how is the fit? My experience with some knock off exhausts from eBay has not been the best when it comes to fitment.

for original owner, still doesnt help that the resonators fail. warranty doesnt pay for labor to remove and replace.

(still think awe is the best sound, just because something looks similar doesnt mean it will sound the same)

that was my dilema.. a local shop offered me to build one. he own a 997tt and build very sweet sounding exhaust so I was confident. However his cost was twice the price of the replacement of awe replacement resonator. So i thought, I could have my resonator replaced twice (if not three times) before being at lost vs the custom one.

Althought frustrating when paying over 2grand for a SS exhaust ( titanium greddy exhaust on my skyline was 1grand lol!!), the warranty is not bad even when factoring labour cost.

I had not heard of resonators failing? They aren't glassed backed, thought the newer units where simply perforated and channeling the flow to create a different frequency?

Sax- have they fixed it at all. Just did res downpipes and Res cat back about 6 months ago?

Regarding the downpipes is it the same rattle as the rear res or completely different issue?

    Thanks man

All good feedback and thoughts. Thanks. Still waiting to see anyone made the purchase and can provide a review. This company also provides a lifetime warranty and based in CA.

I'm more so going for the controlled valve setup. If the mufflers and center resonator are straight through or free flowing, we can pretty much predict the sound. Now my hope is if you can valve one of the exits on each rear muffler, you can bring down the decibels and drone, similar to the more expensive valved options available.

hey sorry to jack this but what kind of sound does the res downpipes make to know when they are going or are shot? I'm running test pipes and the fn car is stupid loud.
Though it was the test pipes but maybe its the AWE stuff...FN A man
