If you don't have a high pressure fuel system tester, i'd replace the sensor, they are pretty cheap. BOSCH 0261545050, worst case scenario id suspect the solenoid on the HPFP is having a problem but thats about as far as I can get on that without testing that car with better diagnostic tools, taking actual fuel pressure measurements and not relying on the sensors.

Hey OP my question was eluding to... are you covered under any warranty, because then you could just get this looked at by a dealer

yes but i dont have a VCDS to tell you which parameter to look at, my scan tool you just search for it by what it is, "fuel pressure actual value"

Will check next time I have access to car. At the the 'high pressure' code. The 'low pressure when cold' I may not be able to catch.
Both are identified as intermittent, and frequency appears to be rather low.

If you still have warranty, take it to the dealer and let them handle it. Report back here with their conclusion.

If I can't come up with any ideas for troubleshooting, I have to bite the bullet and bring car to dealer (2 hour round trip, rental car, etc.); pretty much a workday lost.
Aside from no factory warranty, only extended warranty with co pay ($80).

Not sure if it is part of the extended warranty purchase agreement.

They will come get the car next week and leave a loaner.
Will see what they determine as the source.
Also noticed coolant was a bit low (not at min yet); added to the list to check for them.

Did the dealer solve the issue? I'm throwing the same codes without any warranty left.

Today's update: the cam chain was elongated (also drives high pressure fuel pump). They are putting a new chain and a new chain tensioner on.
    Never heard this before.
We'll see if that is the fix.
I assume they have to get approval from Audi USA (based on symptoms, findings) so the verdict must be Audi approved.

Drastic measures. I would assume the actions are based on proper analysis and that Audi USA (if they are involved) would have concluded that way prior to approving (if they approve such warranty work; in this case extended warranty purchased from the dealer with the car; $85 per incident co-pay).
