    Brakes - Calipers and upgrades

I've seen many threads on upgraded rotors and the calipers being repainted.

But - has anyone found a bigger caliper that can be installed on the rears - where all 4 are big?

Even my Infinitis had pretty calipers front and back. Not like our lame versions.

Love to see them if they are out there.

Here you go, doesn't get much better than this except for the R8.

I think OP is referring to a larger caliper i.e. a multi piston unit.

No such thing exists as far as I'm aware. At least not without fully custom.

I think he meant for vanity.

Thanks...you are both correct - performance AND vanity - and I believe they can go hand in hand. I'll def to drilled rotors at some point...but the calipers, while completely adequate performance wise, lack a lot for aesthetic. Even the fronts age terribly. Mercedes and BMW do similar...big, colored and branded calipers up front - tiny cheap metal in the back. Shame for a 85k car.

    A6Sport...yours are nicely done.

I have my Audi performance shop here exploring options. So I'll share if they come up with something interesting.

The problem with the rear caliper is the incorporation of the electronic parking brake function. I have not found any after market caliper for this platform, probably because of the EPB.

With a bracket change you can at least get to the 356mm S8 flavor of the factory set up. Instead of 330mm, so up just about an inch in diameter.

OP has an S6, so he already has 356mm rear brakes.

It is Blair...if I were going to own a shop...it would be just like theirs. they moved into a new facility and its beautiful - showroom to garage. Very Audi (German) across the board - its like I'm in a German factory when in the shop. White everything and clean/organized - modern, super clean, Audi trained techs. I'm going to have them work on my upcoming Q7 too. I was thinking about ditching the S6 for a Avante (3 dobermans) or a S5 sportback...and they knew all the mods available. Decided I loved the S - so keeping it and just going to make it my project car and enjoy the TTV8.
