I actually expected better times from from the RS3, and surprised the M2 kept up. Part 2 track times will be interesting.

that RS3 looks to be slower than others. I wonder if it's a press car that has been ragged out a little more than typical. The M2 looks to be running right at what mags are getting which is nice given that it's a personal vehicle.

Depending on where they were, they could be at altitude. I know SA has at least one major track that is quite high. A bone stock RS3 should run 12.2's or so pretty easily. I'm looking forward to the next part.

This track is in SA and is at high altitude. Every car I have seen run there posts unusually slow times.

either that or the m2 was tuned since they said it was a customers car. for sure the rs3 will pull more than that on the m2, even with the worlds best driver in the m2.

I was actually expecting the M2 to be a full second quicker. Pretty close race. Audi reckons the sedan is slightly quicker on acceleration.

They said, and the nav map display confirmed, that they were at Killarney Raceway just outside Capetown. Elevation: about 43 feet.

Likely a wash, sedan is about 12-15 lbs heavier but also slightly more aerodynamic.

M2 guys are going to try and spin it "M2 is a better driver's car with a proper manual", yet this one was DCT and won by a whopping 1/4 second. Can't have it both ways. I'd like to see the same race on a wet track
