Arrival at Dealer 11/01/2017 (25 miles on odometer)
Original ETA 10/30/2017-11/27/2017 - (updated 10/27/2017-11/06/2017) - Took delivery 11/03/2017 (66 days from order to delivery)

Delivery went smooth, although I had to wait for PDI which I was under the impression was going to happen the day prior to pickup. Besides that minor hiccup, my dealer was great to work with and would recommend to friends and family. He was able to get a allocation that was about to go into production and was locked to changes the day after the order was picked up, which moved my delivery time from late December-early January to early November. The sales associate I worked with is Nicholas Cohen @ Hunt Valley Audi in Maryland. Let him know Caesar refereed you :) At the time of order, I agreed to MSRP for the car, but was able to get them to come up an additional $1,500 on my trade in which happened the day of delivery.

    Driving Impressions:
Coming from a previous Evo IX owner, this car is as fast as that car at ~60% throttle at ~4000 rpms. I can't wait till I'm past the break in and can really wind it out. The steering is direct, and turn in feels very similar to my Evo did if memory serves, but the ride is much more civilized. I have the standard brakes, and although they have a ton of power, it does take a good bit of pedal input to get them to really bite down. I thought it was going to take me a while to get used to all the tech features (tech and drivers assist packages), but after about 2 days and ~250 miles everything is pretty straight forward now. I love the duplicitous nature of this car. Civilized and luxurious when I want to just cruise, and like a freaking animal when I want to have fun. I wish the sound on cold start was as good as on a warm start with the pops and crackles, and at 6'2", I have to move the seat up about an inch when my 2 year old is in the car seat behind me, but other than those two minor annoyances, the car is exceeding my expectations. I am blown away, and looking forward to many years of fun with this beast. Audi added the "Audi Sport" puddle lights free of charge without me asking. I also have the subwoofer adjustment, and the random drilled pattern steel rotors. Let me know if you all have any questions, and enjoy the pictures :)

I see you're having seasonable winter weather down there in MD as well. You're still running the stock Pirellis right now in this weather? I havent driven in anything under 50 on these tires....how are they holding up?

Just did four hard track sessions on the summer Pzeros. Starting temps 33 up to 45 High. Squishy to start and just absolutely fine after we heated the rubber up! Will order winters soon!

When you find that combo please let us know. I will be in the same boat, weather-wise, and would also like to have 18" tires/wheels, if possible.

I'm at around 750 miles so far and a couple things I've noticed:

    1. I still haven't given it full throttle, but have started going a little above 5k rpms. Wow, this car is a freaking animal! The exhaust is starting to open up quite a bit more and I'm getting more pops and crackles on shifts now and it's sounding really fantastic. I'm assuming this has something to do with the catalytic converters opening up a little now that they are getting more pressurized exhaust gasses forced through them.

    2. I have a noise coming from the front right brake. There is a continuous rotational rubbing noise you can hear when driving that goes away when you apply brakes. Gonna take it in after I hit 1k miles to figure out what is going on.

    3. I have a vibrating noise in the rear deck from the subwoofer. I'll get this addressed when I take the car in for the brake noise.

    4. WTF does this symbol mean?

Lol I had to look up but found that it's a legal requirement (on various parts of the car, happy hunting) to refer the owner / operator to additional information listed in the owner's manual. There's likely some legalease around max cup size, hot beverages while driving, lids, etc etc.

I've had two glitches with the MMI system so far. Friday night, the MMI just froze and wouldn't respond to anything. I had to shut off the car get out and lock the doors for it to reset. Then this morning I turned the car off, and when I went to get out of the vehicle, the radio never turned off. When I came back to the car ~2 minutes later and opened the door, the radio was still on like it was on accessory mode. I started the vehicle, and the it seemed to reset and started functionuing normally. The song that was playing off of my USB thumb stick has a symbol with a line through it, so it may be possible that my USB device is just on it's way out the door and that is what caused my two problems, as it was playing off hte USB drive both times the MMI froze. On the bright side, I have 950 miles on the car, so I should be experiencing my first full throttle acceleration and launch control in the next couple days :)

    Hope you are right.

Well, I broke 1k miles last night, and did a couple launch control starts with a friend in the car. I weigh about 270lbs., and my friend is 230-240lbs. It was below 40 degrees, so the intake temps were low, but the tires were slipping a little off the line. He timed it on his cell phone at 3.7 seconds 0-60. It was also the first time I drove around with traction in sport mode, and the car deffinetly changed to a more neutral handlining, and even had some rotation in the corners. Very satisfying, planted ride.

Same experience on my end. I had my MMI lock up maybe 2-3 times over the first month or so. Random stuff like I couldn't adjust the volume, or the screen wouldn't display the xm information, it was stuck in parking mode with a black screen. Haven't had an issue in quite some time.
