B8.5 Adaptive headlights defective error message

Started the car today, and this message popped up on my dash.

The lights tilt up and down, swivel left and right, then settle on the centre position, so everything seems to be bueno. Any idea what could be causing the error message?

I've replaced both cornering bulbs. One of them was burnt out. Cornering lights still not working, and the 'adaptive lighting defective' message is still on.

I've ordered a Carista dongle, and got the software. Will see what that says and update, in case anyone else is having the same issue.

Cleared codes with the Carista, and it hasn't returned. Cornering lights working properly now, too.

I have noticed that they don't function if the fog lights are on- is there a way to enable this?

I had the same message 1 month after my warranty expired on my 2014 S4. I took it to the Dealer as I wanted them to warranty if the headlights were bad as it was only 1 month beyond warranty. It turned out to be one of the cornering bulbs and they replaced and reset error message for $100. That was the most expensive cornering bulb replacement I have ever had done. I replaced all my interior bulbs to Philips LED bulbs for $86 in bulbs from Pep Boys Auto Parts and YouTube gave me the video instructions! I thought it was going to be something serious or I would have changed it myself
