I use redline for the trans and it's stiff in winter.
I'd go oem, I think fcp euro has it at a good price.

I don't think much of RedLine MTL product. I'm sure it's a great lubricant for summer use but takes 20 minutes to warm up to the point where it starts to shift normally in cold weather, longer if it is really cold. I and my buddies have tried any number of MT fluids and have all settled on OEM (expensive) or Pentosin MTF2. If you research it you will find that Pentosin MTF2 is approved for use in many BMW and MB manual trannys. It's far better in the cold than anything else we've tried.

Regarding the motor oil link you posted, Liqui Moly is an OK motor oil. Many here on the forum use it. But I think it's important for you to know that its HTHS (high temperature high shear) strength, the best test for wear performance, is not that great. I suggest you check out this site and then select a motor oil. https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/201...-test-ranking/

I put Redline in my transmission and regret it. Probably going to try Ravenol soon.

Yeah, but you are in Virginia. The OP is asking about cold weather performance, and it can get really cold depending upon where you are in PA. How is the Fuchs at 5 degree F?

True. I lived in Maine and MA for 8 years so I think that qualifies. I don't see 5 in VA, but do see single digits intermittently. There are plenty of folks who run this in cold weather.

If it's cold, stay with OEM. I put Motul gear 300 after a lot of search, and i regret it. To hard until tranny reach good temp.

Buy it from FCP euro. Cheapest I could find it was there. It was like $15 or so per liter, can't beat that.
