NEW: VagCom VCDS Mod List for C7-C7.5

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I figured I would start a new thread so we can clean things up and hopefully make this a sticky. I have made a new printable word document link that is comprised of all the mods from the previous thread. THIS IS AN EDITABLE FILE. If you guys have some mods that are not listed, PLEASE add them to benefit the community. There's a good chance that I have missed several things so let's get this list fully loaded.

    Here's the file: https://1drv.ms/w/s!Al_yiP_fzKorfJevMFE0VyDcOyo
And the newest version provided by niuk26: http://tiny.cc/C7vcds

Let me know if there are any issues with the file. If you are unsure or do not want to edit the file then please PM me your mod directly.

I plan to move this to Excel at some point and organize the mods by location (i.e. 09 - Cent. Elect). Just trying to come up with a layout that suits everyone. I will be asking for feedback soon.

Maybe you should put up a ad for guys who don't want to buy obd11 but would like to rent one just to enable VIM.

Anyone have figured out how to program the C7 air suspension to go stiffer? I know it was possible with some older Audi a8.

On C7.5 for comfort window/roof operation you also have to do this as well:

Enable window closing with remote (opening is already an option in MMI)
    46 - Cent. Conv.
    Adaptation - 10
    Channel 62
Change value from 8738 to 48059
    Test

On OBDEleven, under 17 Instruments / Adaptations, I was able to switch to the Euro seatbelt warning tones, as opposed to turning it off completely. Much more pleasant reminder to fasten seatbelts than the jarring NAR sound.

Should be noted that with the OBDEleven, enabling VIM is quick and easy through their Apps. However, the Apps do cost $ to use, in the form of credits which can be purchased through the main app. I've used the OBDEleven for over 8 mos now and have programmed 3 cars, including a brand new 2017 Q5 just picked up for the wifey. Not the in-depth programming that Vag Com and a pc can provide, but for everything that I've seen here on the forums, short of messing with the air suspensions, it's all you'll need.

**Note - app only works on Android device, and needs wireless or wifi access.

You can perform long coding/adaptions, including lowering air suspension, with OBDEleven. It is not limited to the apps. The only app I used was the one to enable VIM. All other coding modifications I made, including suspension lowering, I performed via long coding/adaptions using the vag com instructions. I am sure there are limitations of OBDEleven, but so far I have not run into any for my needs (which have been the basic coding mods referenced in this thread).

That is essentially what I said - I assure you that there are certain modifications made by VAG Com that cannot be done in OBD11. At least not at this point.

I went ahead and ordered obdeleven. Mostly because why not. I'd like to enable VIM and check it out. I'd also like to disable start stop on my wife's '17 Q7 and I haven't liked the options in VCDS at this point.

Now need to find a cheap android device.

Thought about getting one of them too, but with all the crap i run to the OBDll port it gets to be kind of irritating. The APR dongle for changing the maps, the Waylens Dash Cam, VagCom, and now this. The Waylens runs all the time much like the OBDEleven would. Has anyone had success with the OBDll splitter from P3? I have heard the APR dongle doesn't work with it but possibly the cam and OBDEleven would? Having a pre FaceLift car I don't really need it for the mods but I am quite curious about live data and logging. Can anyone elaborate on some of the other functions? I am sure they will continue to develop the APP but would be cool to see gauges or have it act like a P3 multi gauge.

Here is the procedure I used to get the OBDEleven App on my Amazon Tablet. There may be an easier way, but this one worked for me. I copied the language below from this website: blog.the-ebook-reader.com/2016/07/02/how-to-install-google-play-on-fire-tablets-the-super-easy-way-no-pc-or-root/

Step #1: Prepare Your Fire Tablet

Go to Settings > Security > Enable Apps from Unknown Sources.

    Step #2: Download Google Apps

You need to download 4 different apk app files. The easiest way is to download them to the Fire tablet directly.

Update: If your Fire tablet has Fire OS 5.3.1.1 or 5.3.2 and up, then use these newer apps from this post at the XDA forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/amaz...-fire-t3486603) instead of the older ones shown in the video.

Likewise, if Google Play suddenly stopped working on your Fire tablet after updating then install the top two newer files from the XDA link above, Google Account Manager and Google Services Framework. Then restart the tablet and it should be good to go. That worked for me after the 5.3.2 update.

Older firmware still works when downloading the top 4 apk files from here: Archive.org (old files) (https://archive.org/download/GoogleP...4.521174655036).

Or you can download all 4 in a zip file from here: Google Drive (old files) (https://drive.google.com/uc?export=d...E0xeDFqWXlBY0E).

Note that if you use the second option youíll also need to install a file manager app such as ES File Explorer to extract the zip file.

    Step #3: Install Google Apps

Use the Fire tabletís Docs app to locate the downloaded apk app files to install them. Generally the default location is Docs > Local Storage > Download if you used the web browser to download the files above.

The Google apps need to be installed in the following order to work:
Note that if you are using the newer apps from XDA then follow the order listed over there, but it should work either way.

    Google Services Framework
    Google Play Services
    Google Account Manager
    Google Play Store
Once thatís finished you can open the Play Store and sign in to your Google account.

    Step #4: Update and Restart

After you open the Play Store for the first time you need to install the YouTube app and then open it. This will prompt the Play Store services to update to the latest version, an important last step. Once the update is installed (it takes awhile), power off and restart your Fire tablet.

Now the Google Play Store app should be good to go!

    Here's another one to add.

Add sensitivity menu for active lane assist (if equipped):

    8E - Image Processing
    Security Code: 20103
    Adaptation
Menu for time of assisted steering
    Activate

    Reset MMI after change.

Well I disabled VIM with the obdeleven. It worked fine. For someone who has never used an android device there was a bit of a learning curve with google play but once that was figured out it was fine.

Honestly I have no more need for it in the rs7 with the VCDS but tomorrow I'll hook it up to the '17 Q7 and if it can disable the start stop then it will be a purchase well worth the money. The wife will be very happy!

Hey all, hoping someone could chime in and rid me of this headache. I followed some of the codings and used an OBD11 today to make some changes. Only did the DRL stuff (DRL with rears) when the car gave a warning tone and threw a fault code on the DIS. It was a Headlight range error...have no idea why or how this happened? I've combed through several different forums all over the web since 2:30p, California time looking for a cure but nothing. Anyone ever run across this? Is the headlight section of coding linked to something else which could have given this error? I have an appointment set at the stealership on Monday morning 8am but hoping to undo whatever caused it before then. Btw, nothing has changed physically as far as lights are concerned - when car is started, lights go on and do it's dance as usual and lights up fine. Help! Thanks all!

Edit: So I thought about the OBDEleven app and remembered it has a "history" function under each component section. Went in to look and found nothing out of the ordinary, as stated above. Then I went back into Control Unit (lights) 55 and did the following:
Long coding: Deactivated Tourist Mode via APK
    Adaptation: Deactivated Highway lights
Still no change. Turned off car then restarted and got this code on the dash: Headlamp range control fault.
Looked at 55 again and clicked on fault and got this code: Headlight, no basic setting / Fault code: C107E54

Well, persistence always works...fortunately, some guys over at the VW forums had the answer! So if anyone ever runs into this fault, here's all you have to do:

Common problem, but easy to fix:
VCDS -> Select Module -> 55-Headlight Range -> basic settings -> see below

the fault is missing calibration / basic setting
In the Xenon Range controller, go into basic settings, select basic settings, hit go. After running, click stop. Select "accept basic settings", hit go, and hit stop once it says finished. This will clear the error.

Make sure you are sitting in the drivers seat when you do this and have a full fuel take. Also, you should clear out the car as much as you can to shave weight unless it is always in the car (spare tire and things like this).

Now need to find a cheap android device.
You won't regret it. For such a minimum cost of admission the thing performs wonders. And seems like the guys at OBDEleven are constantly upgrading the product. When I first got mine late last year, the long coding modules had zero line descriptions but now there are some. And line descriptions are so much easier to deal with. Same with adaptations. And these descriptions are provided by users. That means anyone of us can edit the coding bit lines to have long descriptions. And as long as you're in long coding and adaptations, it won't cost you another dime. Only the apps cost money.

NEW: VagCom VCDS Mod List for C7-C7.5

Do share how you get along. Don't hesitate to throw questions or suggestions on the board as I'm sure there are many other seasoned OBDEleven users out there. Perhaps a dedicated OBDEleven thread would help.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't get these to work on my RS7. For instance, I can't find Channel 6 to activate the green menu. There's just a giant drop down list in the Adaptations window, none of which says "Channel 6."

The old(er) version of VCDS that I used on my RS5 had a channel 6. I just updated to version 17.8 today. Maybe that's it?

Green screen doesn't work for post facelift cars. So your rs7 won't work.

Well that makes sense. Now the only challenge is that most of the modules haven't been mapped, so I don't know exactly what I'm looking at (e.g., it says "Bit 1" instead of "DRL active with turn signal" or the like).

The weirdest one was when I tried to do the mod that shows the gear in D and S modes. I could change the drop down to D ON/S ON from D OFF/S OFF, but when I tried to commit it, I got an error about there being no codes, and did I want to try the default. Has anybody gotten a similar error?
