    RS3 Sedan Helmet Check

I've heard that room for someone about 6-foot in a helmet was a problem in an S3. Then again, I have a friend taller than that tracking an A3. I have a Mk7 R and I fit fine.

Anyone have any points of comparison or sat in one w/ helmet?

All dependent on the leg to torso ratio. I have a friend who is 6'4. He fits fine in a RS5, New TTRS, but doesnt fit in a R8. So it all varies.

I think that might be the case. An S3 has 36.5" of headroom, while you get nearly 2" more room in a Golf R (38.4"). Legroom is the same for both configs.

So the question is if the manual seats or anything else drops the RS3 down vs. the S3, or is it the same.

Amended: it's the same as the A3/S3. 36.5" of headroom.

Super annoying you can't order it without the pano sunroof in the US, for this among other reasons.

TTRS has an extra half inch = 37.1", which is down a half-inch from the 2012 (37.7").

It's already a bit of a head-bobbing and ducking exercise to get situated in the R with a helmet. Tracking the RS3 might be a shorter person's game.

It really comes down to personal preference. I'm 6'3", love my A3, and have to wear a helmet at NHRA tracks because of the times I can run. I manage just fine, and I tend to sit closer to the steering wheel than my girlfriend who is 9" shorter than me.

i would imagine the sports seats would give you more head room since it is manual not electric. usually manual seats will provide a lower center of gravity since there is no electric motor underneath you.

There is no difference in headroom, I tested with a helmet on.
Even the Sparco seat I use which is super low does not leave enough headroom to sit properly for the track. I am 6'1...
