Retainer spring on headlight washer cover

I just acquired a 2013 Q5 (my first Audi). The right-side headlight washer cover doesn't close after the washer pops out--the washer unit works fine and retracts, but the cover just hangs there. The left-side cover is clearly spring-loaded and pops back in place fine, but the right one is under no tension at all--it will snap in place if I push it, but there is no force at all pulling it back.

So far as I can tell, I need to replace the "retainer plate spring"--part 8K0-955-339-A. The part is cheap enough at about $7, but I can't determine how difficult (or not) it will be to install. I found an exploded drawing on a parts site ("BODY/BUMPER & COMPONENTS - FRONT"), but that doesn't have any detail. This ought to be dead simple, but some forum posts suggest that dealing with the washer cover may be more involved than I think.

Anyone have any experience / advice with this part? Thanks in advance.

After some more poking around, replacing the spring looks to be easy, if only I can get to it. Is there a way to get to the headlight washer assembly without taking the bumper off?
