Ugh. Were there just things in the engine bay that you couldn't remove to get out of the way?

I was just basing my comments on the non-uniform micro cracks and wear circle indicators in one of your pictures. I think the gold standard test is around weight, and then thickness. I am no expert on ceramic brakes and looks like you are on top of things.

^6I see wear circle indicators also and was to believe that when these were present, it was time to change them.

On a more important note, I did the install on y 2008 RS with a full writeup. Since Photobucket has removed the pics off the forums, I'll have to figure out a way to get it back up. Good thing for you members is that I'm off of work this week and will work on getting this DIY back in action. Any tips on pic hosting is greatly appreciated even though I'll figure it out when I get started.

    I've had decent luck with http://imgur.com/ .

Are you talking about a write-up for ceramics or for remote reservoir install?

Yes, your install thread was really helpful. Also re-linking the install instructions from the now defunct Stasis. http://www.stasisengineering.com/sit...tall%20V.2.pdf

I'm just going to get the pictures back up. My personal install instructions should already be up with blanks for the pics.

Here's another thing one can do. Take a cylinder of wood the same size as the canister and route that first. It will provide the route for the canister that you will of course wrap in tape. wrap in blue painters tape then over the blue with a thin layer of Duct tape for total protection.

Another good idea is to have quick releases installed on them when getting them rebuilt. The quick releases aren't cheap, about $450 each IIRC.

for the removal all you have to do is disconnect the lines. It's the reinstall that's gonna get you.

LOL... tutorial is easy; just remove it and leave car sitting in jack stands for a week.

Someone also posted the Stasis install manual... it did help me on the removal...

Raudi, if you point me to your photobucket account I can download the pictures for you and upload them to imgur or email them to you. I have some scripts that only take a few seconds. PM me.

Just go download the plug in for your web browser to allow hot linking. I can see the photos just fine. While resisting images isnt necessarily the hardest thing in the word its probably not at the top of his priorities.

Um...we're not paid to help people on the forums. We do it out of the kindness of our hearts, when time permits. With an attitude like this, I wouldn't even bother.

My point exactly, he recently needed help with vagcom and asked locally in the socal thread. Plenty of people offered to help, so I don't think its asking too much for him to simply rehost images and pay it forward.

Two ring member with a join date of less than a year, probably hasn't contributed much to the community has the gall to harp on me for not helping him out. Here it is in a nutshell. I don't have the pics anymore. They are on Photobucket and I've tried countless times to download them back into my computer, to no avail.

I'm an extremely busy person, working up to 80 hours per week. Retrieving photos from a site that is making it extremely difficult for the user, has got the best of me. I lost out there. I'll try again, but I am no longer going to promise anything to the members. That being said, do what I did. Start tearing your car apart and figure it out. It' not that hard. I managed to do it back in the day when the platform was new. If you can't do it, pay someone. Heck, I wouldn't sit around waiting for someone, I don't even know, to do it.

You guys - just use the Stasis directions I posted earlier and figure out anything that is unclear. If that is beyond your ability or interest, take it to a professional.

Just got off of Photobucket and I'm officially gone from that site. Pictures and all gone. I guess since I couldn't download last time, I deleted all my account from that site.

    Apologies to all!

Don't ever try to put me on blast. I've been in this community for years, helped out countless members back in the day. I've done my part.

You should show some respect to the members who've been here long before you. You are speaking without knowledge. If you read, my previous post, you would see that I spent a great deal of time trying to retrieve pics for you folks. I was unsuccessful with that site. The pics wouldn't download and I spent the better half of a few hours trying.

That being said, I was going to offer to install the suspension for you, at my place, free of charge, but I then read this reply and it kinda got under my skin. Good luck with the install, it's not that difficult.

RAudi, don't get upset man! I'm still "new" to the forum even if I joined 3 years back. You helped me out way back and a few other times! Most of us know how much you contributed! Don't get upset by 1 individual.

The forum thanks you and sorry you got butt-raped by photobucket.

lol, ok thanks for calming me down. I'm more pissed at the bucket and now Imgur. Signed up for an account at Imgur and can't download any photos. Just doesn't work. Also looked through my old computer, my hard drive and every other place my pics have been stored and there are no longer any pictures from my DIY install. Sad but true.

On the bright side, I've got a few weeks off of work to locate a few more fleet trucks for the company and am going to spend some me time in the garage. I'll be tearing into the RS4 and just might retake all the pictures needed to get that DIY thread back up.

I need to know who is everyone using to host pictures. Don't know who to go with. Imgur just let me down about 30 minutes ago.

I use Dropbox to store all my things including work logs on the RS, so I can look back and check what I did if i forget something. That way your data is "safe" in a cloud, you can access it via PC or mobile device and also host links to pictures.
