Did this install on my Avant this weekend with a friend. I was wondering if anyone else has done this brake conversion? I'm sure someone has...I know a lot of people do the B6 S4 or B8 S5. The feel of the brake pedal still doesn't feel like I thought it would be. We bled the brakes quite a bit and discovered a bunch of black dirt but we cleared most of it and replaced it with ATE typ 200 brake fluid. Thanks in advance!

    good looking job!

i am no expert, but i think the new calipers are still two piece design (bolted together).
you may not be getting much more clamping force due to a similar amount of flex in the caliper itself?

Yeah it is still a two piece system. Even though it is still a piece system I was thinking it would have much more clamping force. It is such a bigger caliper/brake pad and rotor.

The old rotor diameter was 288x25 and now it's 321x30. Also, I didn't say this before but thanks it was a lot of work cleaning the calipers and painting them.

that is a fairly significant increase in swept area.....
are you getting better performance, just a mushy pedal......
    how is the "cold bite"?
    what pads?

also, where did you get the logo......?

i am upgrading to S5 rotors on my A5 & need to figure out what logo & where to purchase.
planning on going with either "audi/sport" or "audi/rings", like yours, white lettering on black.

you got some nice mods on that puppy, i love wagons.....
just installed a GRP DV....like it alot.
will be installing the 034 hfc when brake mod is completed...

Yeah the performance is night and day compared to the old calipers/rotors. The pedal feel is what i've been concerned about for sure. It's funny because I noticed the feel of the pedal has been getting better since I initially posted this. The pads that I went with are akebono ceramic pads.

I got the logo from eBay...I just made sure that it was a high temp vinyl. They went on very easy and clean. That will look sick man! I would like to see them for sure!

Thanks alot! Yeah it was bone stock when I got it a little more then a year ago. I bought it with 67k miles on it. I've done much more preventive maintenance then mods. Nice! I love my 034 HFC such a good pair with my Neuspeed exhaust. My DV was one of my first mods that I did plus my ECS vent boost gauge.

That blows that you got hit in a parking garage! At-least you're getting some positive things out of it! Those Ecodes are going to look sick! Post up pics when you get it out of the shop!

    you can call me Bill.....

    afa horns or not.....

    like all things....it depends.....

depends on what you like, what your trying to reproduce, how well it was recorded & post-engineered, what type of media you primarily use & of course, the rest of your electronics & room interaction.....

personally, i have heard some V wonderfull horns.....

but i tend to like a tad more detail & realistic bass in general since my heavy-rotation genre includes lots of small ensemble jazz & classical.....

in the end, to each his own........what makes you happy is all that matters.....but finding that without dropping big coin jumping from component to component.....now that is the real challenge...
    as always, jmho ymmv

my niece was with me at last year's Capital Audiofest & she fell in love with this system...

I'm in love with that system myself, although I think it costs more than my house.
