    A/C blowing warm

Ac is blowing warm. I thought it just needed a recharge but when I plug the bottle in it's reading zero psi when I squeeze the bottle.

I also couldn't tell if the compressor was cycling on or not.

Just wanted to double check if I'm missing anything stupid before I take it to Audi and I get completely screwed on parts and larbor.

You are going to need vcds cable to cycle the ac compressor.

This has happened to our cars twice in the past 2 years. Ran the codes and the problem both times was a bad AC pressure sensor switch which screws on in front of the condenser. Bought one at the local VW dealership which was $65 rather than $82 for the same part at Audi. Took 1 minute to switch out.

Thanks! I'll run the codes in the morning.

I'm literally at the dealer with my new car because my car's AC started to blow hot air. I have 1180 miles on the clock.

Replacing this seems simple enough, but would anyone mind taking pictures and briefly explaining the process for a DIY?

If you Google image the sensor you'll see a b8 image.

All you have to do is remove the plastic cover above the radiator and it's right there.

I just bent mine up instead on unclipping to save time.

Unclip the wire and use an adjustable wrench to remove and replace. Reattach wire

Clip the plastic cover back into place. Don't force it! It has clips that slide right in.

Mine did this this morning. Message stating that auto start stop is not available and warm air from the AC. Two pending codes, no light. P0116 and P017B. Hoping they come back on so I can take it in to get it checked out.

Wow seems like a common failure, assuming car's problem is the same.

Maybe I'll just go buy the part ahead of time. I know this stuff is warranty covered, but for something like this, assuming the fix is that easy, I would just do it myself.

Aftermarket switches have the reputation of not lasting very long. I'd recommend a genuine VAG part.
