    I installed mine and it basically took me 1 day to remove. 2nd day to install. yes a few errors like stripping the heat shield bolt that's at an angle. I had to take a dremel to the shield and then twist and pry. this is after trying to cut the head of the bolt which is impossible. Even tried a screw extractor set. The bolt finally gave up after twisting the mangled heat shield back and forth. Then after I had Franken turbo mounted, I tried to move inboard coolant line and of course banjo bolt started to move! Nightmare Scenario..... luckily I had purchased the Shorty OTC triple square sockets that have a nut style head. I was able to tighten them with socket placed in ratcheting box wrench. I had off this week so I took my time and prayed a lot 🙄. Car is now at Audi for an unrelated manifold flapper motor. Still have warranty until November. Any way I know your pain. good luck 😎

    ^Yup, K04 is the only way to enjoy this vehicle. Such a shame to have put a weak OEM turbo on this engine. Frankly, they really put this engine at a huge deficit right from the factory.

    Can't imagine what those transverse 2.0 guys with GTI's are experiencing. What almost 500 HP? Wow.

    The k04 was the beginning of the end of my vehicle. I love it but my car is getting a full tear-down in about a month.

    X2...mine is almost a year old...10k miles and only issue I had was the clutch.

    Can you guys please elaborate on your issues for those of us considering dropping the money on a K04?

    I guess the OP IHave2Turbos said none of his problems are mechanical, which is good.

    Lambda13? What went wrong?

    I haven't come across any K04 horror stories.

    2009, 130,000 miles, engine mounts went, probably caused the driveshaft to wear and need replacement, suspension was bought inexpensively so it needs replacement, rear brakes need replacement, thermostat, coil packs, etc.

    My issues are logistical and I am still waiting for a final piece of the puzzle to be re-delivered so that I can cross my fingers and hope that everything finally mates together.

    This thread is not a about a problem with theK04 in general, this is just me bitching about my particular situation where a bunch of silly shit has compounded to basically leave me with a non-running car going on 3 weeks.

    I'm being cryptic on purpose because I don't want to put anyone on blast.

    Nothing is easy with modding, things are custom, tolerances exist, variances happen, things change, parts will break, you have to expect gremlins when you mod a car. I'm just whining because I miss BOOOOOST.

    My K04 install was going smoothly right up to the final few fasteners, then it was a complete mess. Spent 90 removing the stock turbo and nine hours putting the k04 on.

    Yes, car is up and running. Seems as though the person I was dealing with was either tired of hearing from me or too busy to close the loop personally...

    So far, the car does feel totally different. Basically I need to learn to drive the car again. The power band has shifted up into the higher RPM realm.

    I can "feel" what I think is some aggressive torque management in the 2750-3500 range, not sure yet.

    So far I am happy with the results, car feels like it came from the factory this way, very refined actually.

    I think the overall annoyance level of the procurement and subsequent installation headaches took some of the excitement out of the situation for me.

    just dropped mine of tonight to a local Guru Force Fed Engineering to be dyno tuned. Car felt pretty good to me after Chris Tapp created a version 2 for the AG ECM. when it comes down to it though a base file how ever refined is still a base file. I don't have the time or knowledge to tune it my self. I tried a couple of maps from very friendly dudes on here but they didn't quite work out. It's now in the hands of the tuning gods.😎 Will update next week.

    So I got my car back after being tuned. I'm very happy with it. Drivability is very refined, above 3grand though the car changed personality. They wound up swapping out my Bkr8iex plugs as they were getting a lot of misfires, no doubt with 81k ZF8 auto and never had a carbon cleaning its about due. They installed copper plugs gapped At .022. They said boost is set At about 26psi. The car mods are as follows AEM intake, Euro code FMIC, R8 cool packs, 7 heat range NGK plugs, Franken Turbo, Top Gear Tuning 200 cell HFC, 2.5 inch Top Gear Tuning full dual exhaust, GFB DV+ Tuned with Eurodyne Maestro by Force Fed Engineering on a Dynojet AWD Dyno. I'm told dynojet dynos tend to read a bit lower than Mustang Dynos. Over all very happy with it.
