Yep. I specifically got the TTS so I wouldn't [again] be tempted by the tuning Sirens. But the Force is strong in this one!

Got some shift extensions from Winn auto sports and I'm really impressed. They don't use tape, just click onto each shifter and tighten one screw at the bottom. Very secure and they actually work well. Looks really cool and they come with 3 options of red, green, or blue tubing to inlay into them.

It was about $650 for those 3 pieces. Which I thought was really good. Still waiting on the virtual cockpit "hood" piece, which was another $250. He can do all sorts of colors or regular carbon.

For the TAG reflectors, how did you pop the existing ones off?

Need to remove the bumper? Thinking I might give it a go this weekend.

Need to get behind the fender liner. I took the front wheel off too to make it easy. It's not difficult though. Just need to take a few screws out if the liner.

Well I talked to Audi and they say the center console has to be disassembled which sucks cause there's nothing I can find online showing how to do it. May have to pay a ton to have it installed....

My memory may be a bit foggy, but here's what I seem to remember:

When the Feds first required this safety equipment (effective around 1968 or 1969?), it was first mandated that orange side reflectors be installed in front on each side, and red side reflectors be installed on the rear of the car on each side.

Then, the requirement changed (around 1970, I think) to orange side marker lights in front (with reflectors) and red side marker lights in the rear (with reflectors). As far as I know, this is still the requirement as of today.

Granted, Porsche owners often change out the front side markers for clear, but also change the bulbs to orange. I don't think this meets the letter of the law, though.

So if I'm right, can blue replacements for orange reflectors be legal?

Not sure why the need to be so condescending, but it's about as legal as going 46 in a 45. Does anyone give a shit, including the police? No.

Tons of people replace them on all brands/models of car. Never heard of anyone caring so wouldn't worry about it.

Clear corners with amber bulbs was the first mod I did on my GTI, 15 years ago. I've been pulled over more times than I can remember in those 15 years and never got hassled about them. Hell, I lived in Virginia when I first got the car and it never even failed safety inspection. Definitely nothing to be concerned about.

Historically i’ve only retrofitted clear lenses with amber bulbs, on a number of vehicles. But the color matched are awfully tempting despite likely no illumination.

Its such a dumb rule, makes U.S. cars looks stupid, does not help in any way with accident avoidance, etc and is not consistently applied by any manufacturer, some have lights, others do not.. Similar to a number of DOT rules, we are behind the times here in the U.S. and hopefully some day we catch up. This is also why we do not get the much better headlights that are offered on cars for the ROW.

The purpose for front and rear side reflectors is in case the car has no power, the vehicle can be seen at night by other vehicles' lights. I've always owned black cars, so I just always tint them so they still function, but blend in better with the car body.

Well ain't that quite the scenario. Not only do I have to be unable to start the car, but my battery needs to be dead, there needs to be a lack of visibility, and I have to somewhere on the road that would result in a potential collision. Not to mention I'd have to refuse to try and move my vehicle to the side of the road as well and have no other means of flagging down vehicles or calling for help. Lol, I stand by my assertion that it's a useless US law.

And why people in more educated motoring countries use Safety Triangles to alert others. These triangles are standard equipment on most European vehicles but are not equipped on cars here in the states as most folks would not know what to do with them.

Historically I've just max turned the wheel to facilitate enough fender liner loosening to reach behind. But for this I plan to await my all too soon winter wheel cycling as it will clear space anyway.
