With the core exchange program, is there any testing/verification done that ensures we're not getting a blower that needs a rebuild of any kind?

BGSQ5... Its a good question and Brett AKA Jokerz is a good guy. Seems to care about what he puts his name on and does inspect assembly, rotors and so on-
He's been at the SC game for some time regarding other platforms and his work speaks for itself-
He actually respects this (Audi ) community a ton-

I've only spoken to him once and just grabbed / ordered a unit from him.

All that being said, like anything else, tune things for more power and shit can go wrong.
However, the risk is low regarding a properly ported blower IMO. We are not spinning these things full speed 247.
I'd think a greater risk would be not changing your SC oil every 45,000 to 50,000 or so, but thats just me-

    doesn't matter

quick qns for those that have taken the plunge.
will i need to change the SC oil on the ported blowers before the swap?

Jokerz - is there a non-core option? Iíd be worried about trading my low mileage blower for a 120k blower with old oil, 5x mileage rotors and getting whatever snout pulley. What would the turn/down time be without the core? Stoked on the new nasty port.

ReD. They come with fresh, makes this Mod a no brainer-

The interesting thing is, I was informed that GM had posted builtins regarding SC oil. Seems 20/50 Mobil 1 is basically all it is. I am still kind of in disbelief of this as I'd think SC oil to have additives of some short but I'm told this is not the case. Used SC oil smells like SHIT...not sure why that is if its just a 20/50?

There is also an interesting side note regarding our SC's. Audi actually installed a bearing on our units therefor changing their original design and from what I was told Audi actually has a Patent on this and will NOT let Eton service the units....I am looking to confirm this.

For one I own Patents and I do not see how any manufacture could take someones design and product, add to it and call it their own. That would mean Eton never had it protected in the first place....Point being not sure if the Audi Factory SC Oil or service part # for the qt's is also different....Who knows

I did the core exchange and since I wanted to keep my EPL SC pulley, I just swapped my existing SC snout with the ported SC. They are shipped with no oil and Jokerz provided a bottle of oil to fill it up.

I thought someone in this forum posted the GM part number (at 1/3 the price mind you) within the last year?
