Yes they have no idea. Ask him for print out of your vehicle status and if there its says actual day for ship loaded then to see which ship departs on it exactly. My colleague has A5 sb and is currently showing ship loaded eta of 6/16. But we see there is none on this date so the next one is viking bravery departing 6/26-6/27 and due in TX in 7/15. Maybe your car will be on it too. Ship has 3 stops in USA. Davisville then Jacksonville and Houston

I see that the Viking Bravery as well as the Athens Highway are both on their way back to Emden from Davisville. I am hoping it will be on one of these two ships. So glad the car was completed before the strike that just started yesterday.

Congratulations on your A5. Love the photos. I am sorry to learn you did not receive the Owner In Waiting Communications. Do you know if your dealer signed you up for the emails? I am glad the delivery went well with the dealership.

Did I mention 12 years ago? I'd expect technology to have advanced a bit along these lines.

And since we'll be ordering a Q5 soon, I'm a bit disappointed in hearing that we won't have access to detailed tracking info.
Totally agree! One would expect better buying process especially if you are willing to wait 3 months and pay 55 grand for it. Very disappointed

Hi...I was given some advice to come post over here in the hopes that I may get more information about an order I placed earlier this year. Nearly 5 months ago in May of 2017 for a 2018 Audi Q5.

I have been given multiple stories and the most frustrating part is that my dealer nor their rep has been given any information lately. My Commission number is #NN4320.

I was expecting to take delivery at the end of August and now we are near the end of September.

My order details are as such:
    2018 Q5 2.0T Quattro S-Tronic (FYB5NY)
    Prestige Model (WPT)
    Color: Manhattan Gray Metallic (H1H1)
Leather: Nougat Brown (Includes Black Headliner) (ZK)
    Inlays: Gray Oak High-Gloss (5MT)
Wheels: 20Ē 5 Segment Spoke 255/45 All Season Tires

    Packages:
    Cold Weather Package (PAW)
    Warm Weather Package (PS8)
    Driver Assistance Package (PCU)
    Adaptive Damping Suspension (1BL)
    Rear side airbags (4X4)

I have been working with my SA whom has been more than responsive, but the information from my dealer nor the information they are getting leaves us customers literally stranded with a big question mark about what is truly going on.

Any response is welcomed and appreciated.

    Thank you.

Edit: My vehicle showed up on the dealer website this morning confirmed by my SA.

    http://www.audicolumbus.com/new/Audi...102ac8e311.htm

So new follow-on question: Is there a way to track the KCS train enroute to Houston, TX?

Could you please let me know the status of my ordered SQ5?

    Comm# NX5290

I thank it is in port (not sure when it arrived and which port - Jaxport or Davisville)? Would love an updated ETA with expected release to carrier and delivery to dealer days.

This is much appreciated and my dealer is on vacation until the end of the week.

    Thanks

Looking at the specs, you will have a nice looking Q5! Five months seems too long. I was told by a SA in the DC area that orders take 90 days plus up to a month buffer for any delay. I placed my SQ5 order on August 26th. I was immediately given a printout of an order without any build or ETA dates. A couple of weeks have passed and no additional info was provided. When I inquired today, I was told Audi has now given an ETA Dec 6th to Jan 3rd so it is still within the dates provided by the SA.

I learned from this site that sometimes dealers have dealer allocation limit issues and when a dealer reaches the limit of a specific model the dealer is unable to get an ETA for an order (for that model). Audi has also only recently started putting the Driver Assistance Package on Q5s and SQ5s. This could also be one of the reasons for the delay. The Audi reps on this forum have been helpful. I am interested to hear a rep's comments on your Q5 order.

I agree it would be very nice to learn of what really was the delay here. I suspect its a combination of things though...

    - Hurricanes / Earthquakes causing back-ups
    - DAP orders did not start getting built until mid-July
    - 20" All Season wheel shortage
    - Common port delays

So taking into account the 90 days (~3 months), yeah I am way beyond that from the perspective of when I ordered.
From the perspective of when Q5's were built with DAP (mid-July) to now we are within the 90 days.

However, it doesn't add up still. My order was placed well in advance and my dealership had the allocation numbers. It seems a bit too obvious that Audi has moved specific orders ahead of mine due to some internal prioritization. A bit unfair IMO but it is what it is. On the upside, my transport was adjusted on 8/28 to come via rail and then truck (Mexico -> Houston -> Columbus) which will speed up the delivery process. It was supposed to come via ship (Mexico -> Davisville -> Columbus) which would have taken another week or so longer.

My comment on priority is based on the fact there were other orders with 20" wheels just like mine that were showing up on other dealer's websites that I know were ordered after mine.

I just read earthquake articles and it seems Audi did not sustain any damage from the earthquake. The plant only stopped production the day of the earthquake. I have not heard anything about the 20" tire shortage but hopefully the shortage is over. Usually the reps do not post your situation publicly. I am not sure if you already emailed any reps on this forum directly. They are very responsive. Hopefully you'll get your wonderful Q5 soon and you'll post an update for us.

Hmmm...if I said too much then I apologize wholeheartedly. I didnít fully realize the etiquette on this forum. I am pretty active on the Audi World forum (opps am I allowed to even mention that other forum) ;-)

Anyways no rep here has PMd me (yet) nor responded. My dealership SA has been wonderful but neither them nor their regional representative are being informed of anything. Customer Service just has me going back to the dealership. So in short itís like that dog that just keeps chasing his tail over and over again!

Maybe private message is a better term instead of email. If you click any of the reps names one of the options that show up is to PM them directly. A rep has been responding to my PMs within 24 hours. Yes, I've seen reps say "PM me" or "I've sent you a PM" as well. Hopefully a connection will be made and good news will be provided.

    Hi Vincenzo,

I too sent you a PM yesterday about the status of my '18 Q7 Prestige...I have received no information from my dealer or Audi although I was supposed to have been added to the owner in waiting portal but I don't believe that happened...Please let me know if you need additional information from me or that you received my PM. Many thanks!

Many thanks to Vincenzo for letting me know that my Q7 is on the Adriatic Highway, which may make port in Davisville RI as early as tomorrow, according to the latest marine traffic information. That means I may have my car sooner than expected, which is always a good thing! My dealer is having problems with the owner in waiting portal so I haven't been able to enjoy the journey...at least I can enjoy the last few days!

A huge shout out to Vincenzo F. for getting back to me last Monday. I just got his PM today not realizing it was sitting in my inbox waiting for me (Doh!). Thank you again Vincenzo!
