    Roc Euro intake 3.0T

    Hi All,

I thought I'd share today's experience in case anybody else was interested.

After SincityA6 taunted my ears with the sound of his intake combined with stage 2, I checked out the Roc website.

Currently selling at $299 ($50 saving) which in itself is great but I ordered at approximately 2:30pm and by 5pm the intake was in FedEx hands and due here by Thursday.

    Very good experience.

I wanted an exhaust and intake done but I went with new shoes this season instead. Still looking forward to that seductive white chariot of glory

Mod bug is hitting you hard with your new ride. I spent way too much on mods for my B5 Avant. Lucky I could only afford the 3.2 when I picked my Avant up used five years ago. Not many mods for mine other than suspension and good tires. When I went to pick mine up from the CPO dealer they had a used 3.0T Avant black/black Prestige for $50K. I still regret not getting that one.

I am very glad to hear the positive feedback about John and Roc*Euro. I can attest that his product is superb in workmanship and quality. I know he took a beating in the C7 forums in the past regarding turn around time on orders, etc. so hearing your experience, Mick, is very encouraging. I would HIGHY recommend his intake for the 3.0t motor.
That being said, I can't be responsible for the sudden decrease in you bank account.

Yes mod bug never left! But the good thing is the price I got the 3.0t for I don't see issue with some money spent on mods. This intake almost purchased today...some reason I backed out. But been researching and def getting this by end of week or next along with a Remus rear section.

I bought and installed the Roc Euro intake for my 2011 around the holidays. I got a noticeable power bump down low and I LOVE the added whine. I suppose it could be annoying to some in situations such as going up a steep hill, which will be noisy no matter how fast you're going. But the 3.0T now reminds me of my buddy's S4 and I couldn't be happier. Trying to talk myself into doing the Revo stg1 ...

Fitment was tricky due to the size of the cone filter; if I had to do it again I think I would actually lower the whole set-up into the engine bay at once including the heat shield and the filter.

The fence I'm on is whether or not I'd like the sound. At first it would be exciting but I think I soon would find myself wishing for my car to be a nice quiet luxury ride again.

I just can't help but equate it to a blow off valve when I watch these videos; maybe it serves a "purpose" but it kind of gets old quick.

Anyone tired of theirs and want to loan it out for a few of us to try?

You don't need to be tuned. Obviously the tune will get you more out of it but this ends up a $1300+ commitment instead of $300. Plenty of S4 guys out there running intakes without a tune.

For highway cruising or general daily driving around town, unless I really get into the throttle there is barely any detectable whine. As I said, the exception is on steep hills where the car really needs to be sucking air to keep moving

If anyone is in the Hollywood / LA area and wants to come for a spin and check mine out, you're welcome to.

Nice thank you! Tune is def something I'd consider down road. Enjoying a car that isn't mod'd to point of where I'm afraid to break something. The intake for sure will go on. The sound for me might get old, but my BT Avant had open WG and Forge 004 BOV. Fun when you wanted it, but it got old after a while.

You have any exhaust mods done?

I don't have any exhaust plans in mind - As I shuffle through these threads I haven't been able to find a consensus on a practical and enjoyable exhaust mod. I'll do a tune long before I start hacking at the exhaust. There's something really appealing to me about the hours and $$$ that APR/Revo/GIAC have invested into our platform to get them to perform better than factory under all conditions.

If cost is an issue for people I was able to modify a 034 B8 S4 intake inlet hose to fit our 3.0T engine. Just need to cut off a bit of material from the intake box side. Got it used from the forum for about $40 and I added a AFE SFlo Dry filter to help w/ added flow. Looks stock but man you can really hear the supercharger whine. Here's a picture of my setup.

EDIT: And forgot to say if you just want more supercharger whine a free mod is just gutting the airbox. If you open your airbox there is this skeleton type part inside w/ foam. Just remove the skeleton piece and remove the foam and you get supercharger whine. But once you remove the stock intake inlet hose you get even more =)

Mine was getting a bit annoying to take out the stock air box, but overall pretty easy, love the sound so far and im aiming for APR tune just because majority of the ppl i know have the apr over the others brands!

Do your research. APR and GIAC are both very solid and reputable tuning companies. I went with GIAC because they offer port flashing (through the ODBII port) where APR requires the ECU be removed and tuned on a bench. GIAC also offers program switching (stock/pump/race) where APR does not offer switching ability in the A6 tune.

I have the same setup but I'm still running a stock filter. I gutted the airbox and can hear a little whine but not as much as i hoped. Im hoping once I swap the filter I'll here it more.

    Scratch away indeed.

I'm going to try and join those who have already made videos tomorrow although it will not be great quality as it'll be via iPhone for now.

lol I said the same thing..."only doing intake", then "only doing stage 1", then it was "ok I'll just do stage 2". I say if you can do it, just go straight to stage 2, you won't regret it brotha

    I'm with KBruce on this.

I read a bit, took advice from the Audi guru, SincityA6 and decided that stage 1 wasn't exactly what I needed.

It's fantastic how it's takes the limiter off and really releases the top end, but my desired goal was low down grunt.

Stage 2 is a total transformation in my hbo
