    01 AWM block with AEB head problem

    Okay I've searched but can't find much anyways like it say 01 1.8t AWM block with AEB head the car runs great just keep getting a CEL code P0340 says it's the Cam Positioning sensor , I've changed the CPS and I am still getting the CEL and from what I have read if the timing was off it wouldn't run right at all so I am kind of puzzled at this point any help would be good

    Cam windows are different. If you did not swap the one out from your old AWM head, you need that one.

    Mitch is probably right! Did you swap the cct out for the vvt version?

    Thanks guys I'll give it a try I bought the car this way so not too sure what else could be wrong lol but I'll keep y'all updated

    Use this website when it comes to DTCs for the VAG platform. Also take the hall sender off and see if there is a bunch of oil inside. Could possibly be playing with the signal and a new cam seal will be necessary at that point. My advice is to check wiring, then replace both hall sender and hall window (link above). If that does not fix it, then I am stumped.

    Okay just took the hall sender off and it's not an AWM cam rotor its the one for AEB so now I have to wait for the new one to come in so time to play the waiting game

    You can use one off any vvt 1.8t.
