I know it's taken awhile, do you know which wire we're supposed to tap into to access the turn signal function? I saw the grounds and the white and red but not where the yellow is supposed to go. I should have my Bentley manual up and running tonight (whole other PITA).

Good news, shop I brought the headlights to has them all wired up and plastic welded them back together and they're ready for pickup. Hopefully I'll be able to get them swapped out this weekend, I'm going to have to go through this thread with a fine toothed comb to see if there is anything I need to do with the connectors but I'm a step closer.

Doh, only thing I was told by the shop was that a couple of the amber turn signal LEDs don't work but all the white LEDs do, at this point I just want it done so I'm not worrying about a couple of LEDs.

damn man thats messed up. I totally understand though, fuck it just get it installed and working.
I'm extremely interested in this shop, Depending on how expensive it's tempting.
My issue I'm still finding is any lights on ebay that are decent cost all have the tabs broken off. I know there are fixes but I'd rather not ghetto fix it.
    I also don't feel like spending $400 a headlight.
If theres any good news on my end it's things are looking up and actually able to be setting money aside for this project now.
This is the summer we all get this shit done. lol
I've also given up on the MD2S 4.0 idea. I'm just going to swap the projectors for TRS EvoXr's and be happy. Direct swap for $150.

I got swamped at work yesterday so I'm going to pick them up tonight, I'll post pics and let you know the cost of it all. They've been really good so far, even called me a couple times yesterday to discuss the process when they ran into snags. I think due to the plastic welding it's going to cost around $300 for the labor but I think at this point it's worth it to finish this up.

just to remind you that EVO requires x2 adapters for each. (AMP > D2S BALLAST ADAPTERS & D2S > AMP BALLAST ADAPTERS).
also need to find a space for your igniter which I could not find.

So, I decided not to do projector swap, instead i did clear lends.

Audi actually sells the tab repair kit. $60 IIRC so not ghetto fix; OEM baby!

So it cost a bit more than I thought but I couldn't be happier with the service and the quality of the work. Here they are all out back together, spoke with the shop owner who did the work and he said he tested everything thru the OEM connector and everything worked on the board including the turn signal function when the main turn signal was used.

He plastic welded the light housing back together then used sealant on top of that to make sure it was water tight again. As you know using a hot knife to cut this open left a good gap so the fact that it's together and looks like nothing is out of place impressed me. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time this weekend to take the bumper off and put them in.

All the labor was in the plastic welding and checking all the wires since the pics from the LED board website didn't have directions only pictures so he had to check everything as he went. Total was $400 which I know is a bit costly and more than I thought it would be but then again I know it was correctly wired and sealed up. Would have been much easier if we could have easily baked these lights open but it it's what it is. As soon as I get them installed I'll post pics and video but it might not be till next weekend as this weekend is pretty busy, I'm hoping maybe to sneak away on Sunday for a couple hours to finish this.

It's so tempting at 400 to just send them off and have them returned done. Man that's tempting. It's really not that much considering everything he did, and being the first time as you mentioned.
    So... So... tempting.

I'm really happy I called around and found a shop willing to do it that was right around the corner of the house, literally 4 min drive down the street. Now he's downer it once it would probably be easier the next time he does it though you have to factor in shipping since I'm outside of st Louis.

Though the next step is figuring out what pin in the harness need to be moved and then finding someone who can do it.

Earlier in the thread someone made it work. I'd have to go back and dig up who it was.

Looking on ebay looks like the driver side afs light is $250 for a broken one so I may have to do that. I really didn't want to lose my afs.

I'm not sure I can swap it over easily....

these guys did some work but haven't posted in years.
    https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...750403/page17/

I'm about to order the other headlight and im going to see if I can find a shop that will plastic weld mine back together.

Do you care to tell me what shop you used? See if they've be interested in just welding mine back together and sealing them up properly, I can do the other work. Wonder what the cost would be.

JPJ, shops website is www.schaeferautomotive.com the guy that did the work for me is named Ben and I believe he's the owner. The exact cost for me was $425 for doing the wiring and sealing them back up.

It's an extra $50 from trs when you order the evo-xr projectors. Something I'll pony up for when I do order them. Eventually.

hey, wasn't the pin config detailed somewhere in this thread? Someone got the lights working through the mmi on here.

I never got an email back from the guy that did your headlights. Oh well.

I see some front lenses are being sold online. that might be the way to go instead of cutting the back of the headlight. Cut the lens out, use a dremel to get the whole channel clean and then just reglue the headlight lens back on.

The plus to this is that since it will be new butyl glue, it can be baked back off if an issue needed to be fixed.

    Maaaaaaybe found my path.

    $85
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-A6-6-20...BYkz4e&vxp=mtr

    $45
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-Car-Hea...5ZiAZ9&vxp=mtr

Edit: Just bought the front lenses. I'm going to try this route. Since as long as I cut everything out, I can re seal them and also rebake them open if I ever need to fix anything.

The only issue will be cutting the lens off, and then cutting out all the material in the channel where the front lens sits.

Not sure why I didnt think about this before. Probably my best option.

Sorry to hear they didn't respond, that sounds like a solution. I'm just trying to figure out exactly which pin needs to be moved to make it work, I know it's the DRL pin however I just need to make sure which 1 it is and then find time my mechanic friends can do it

I just bought the lenses off ebay. This project may be moving forward. I'm ordering projectors on the credit card. fuck it. lol

Did you find the other guy who got his to work? He posted the wires and pins I thought in this thread like half way through?

Just emailed TRS in Atlanta checking compatability with the EvoX-R 2.0 projectors bolt pattern matching the 2009 A6 as well as the 2006 A6. So we'll see soon.
Match or not im ordering their EvoX-R 2.0 they just released with the Etching service as well.

    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...-evox-r-2.html

    etching is $50

    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/me...action_4_1.jpg

They have hundreds of designs, a few audi ones. I think the basic rings with maybe the honeycomb on the edging

Good News, I finally scored the other headlight I needed. Just purchased it on ebay. $140 Shipped for a Driver Side AFS model. So, Now I have a complete set of AFS 09+ LED lights.

The Clear Lenses are on the way, as is the headlight now. I said fuck it and bought a mesh grill for the car too. :P

So next step is to cut the lens off and start grinding out the permaseal/plastic lens inside of it to clear the channel out for the new lenses after the retrofit is complete.

    It's finally happening gentlemen.

Sub'd to see results. I've done a few retrofits in the past (3series BMW and 370z) but these headlights sound like a pain.

It's crazy how expensive the rs6 lights are, do they come with the clear lenses?

Well since I wrecked the car and didn't have time to install these headlights if anyone is interested in doing this conversion to their C6 I will sell my headlights for a reasonable offer. They're all wired up and sealed and were tested by the shop to work, they don't come with bulbs as I was just going to swap them from the old set. PM me if interested.

    Are you not getting back into a C6? ( I would totally upgrade to a C7! )
