Went to Sacramento Raceway yesterday. A few things going on last night:
    • It was bring your hillbilly diesel farm truck full of mud to the track night
    • Between the trucks and the rain, the staging areas had all kinds of mud and water everywhere
    • Little to no track prep
    • Place was packed and only had 2 opportunities in about 3 hours to run (see pictures)

    Full weight.

Still had 2-3 gallons of crappy CA91 in the car when 104 was dumped in. This was a last minute decision to run. Car had less than 3 miles of adaption after switching into the race fuel file.

First run was the only complete run of the night. I did one hard pull through 4th to get a boost profile. The first (and only complete) run of the night was done 20 minutes off the highway (an 80 mile drive). My buddy who was at the track with me looked at my tires and told me to "burn them off" to get them cleaned off (see video). Not a good way to start a run. Second run (with him driving), he missed second and gave up.

    Some things to think on:
    - JHM day at the track is on Saturday
    - I will have more than 3 miles of adaptation (hoping for 20 miles)
    - We will get more passes
    - DA is scheduled to be roughly the same (600-1000 feet)

    Videos:

    Timeslip:

    It was crowded:

I honestly believe this car has 11.6 in it with good track prep and decent conditions (good 60', proper adaptation, proper cooling time in pits, decent DA).

    You sure it's not -623 to 548?

Density (-) altitude is only an issue if it's derived from temps that don't support traction and shitty track prep. If it's 40 degrees out and your tires aren't up to snuff and the track prep sucks...then spin....but your traps will be higher. The 1.5 60ft times here don't play into that scenario. You can also over boost if it's too cold out and go into limp mode...I don't see that here either.

Yeah. It was hillbilly night at the track. Never seen anything like it.

That was an old Camaro that was caged out, running slicks, loud as all hell. Not sure what was done to it, but he wasn't happy he got beat.

Running the JHM event on Saturday should keep the trash out. That and the $40-50 entrance fee (usually $20 on Wednesday nights).

Latest addition, thought this was pretty cool and hopefully it's something for me to look forward to potential-wise this fall when the temps and D/A's drop....

Went to a test-n-tune event tonight. Biggest change was the addition of a Fluidampr 187mm crank. The DA was 2133ft when I arrived around 7pm and ran, and 1753ft on my last run at approx 9:03pm. My times were 11.245@122.77mph (2133ft D/A, 86*F), and then a 11.176@122.96mph (1993ft D/A, 84*F), and then the time below in 1753ft D/A, 79*F). Fuel was my usual 37% ethanol content e85/93 mix, tire pressures 39/38psi, fuel level 1/8 tank, spare/jack intact.

Where's the verified full weight/street tire APR cars on a DA greater than 1000 feet?

We all know those guys love to pull weight and run drag radials... the fact that only the Arins car has anything in + 500 DA raises questions...

Where are the multiple GIAC, EPL or ANY tuners cars putting down times similar to Loe's in similar conditions consistently? Stop being a tool bag and start giving some credit to driver.

Reasoning doesn't work with this guy.

Even though there are 4 APR tuned cars trapping 121 + right now. Additionally APRs car went 11.0 full weight at 1200ft DA...but I'm sure his goalposts will omit that one.

How are the other tuners stacking up in the 121 mph club? I thought I heard Loe say there were 12 120mph cars. I'd like to see the breakdown, I don't see that many on his list.

By the way nice run Loe, especially in those DAs....

Few things I saw with your run you could work on for better times:

    1. Don't let your friend drive your car unless you already think you've put down your best time.
    2. Stage shallow. It looks like your rolled forward a bit after the second staging light came on. This will improve your 60'
    3. Don't worry about timing the green light, worry about your launch.
    4. Clean up your launch. You want your RPM's moving in one direction, up. After your tires spun and grabbed it brought RPMs down to 3000 before you were on your way. That's killing your time in the first part of the track. You'd be better off launching at a lower RPM and getting less spin.
    5. Turn off the speed warning. That's just annoying
    6. If you go to the JHM event take some tips from them

The good news is your shifts look great and your trap speed is up there. Mid 11's will come. This is more personal preference but I would always have my hand on the shifter for the launch, and the whole run. If you line up straight, and don't get too much wheel spin the car should go straight.

Nice run Loe. It may just be an omission but you said you ran a Fluidampr 187 but the details say JHM 187. Curious on your thoughts between the two? I eventually will go DP and do not like the APR option the JHM and Fluidampr look the most appealing to me. I respect your perspective on these two parts, thanks.

JHM doesn't offer a 187mm pulley so it is likely Fluidampr.

With that said, he has ran OEM, JHM, KI, and Fluidampr. He posted in the FB group how much better the Fluidampr is for the idle.

    oops i'll correct it now...its a Fluidampr :)

I do like the ease of replacing the ring, and yes my engine idle is smoother with it. The lumpy 3.0t idle is pretty much carpeted out.

As for my decision to go with a larger size....

I've found that boost pressures are too dependent on good D/A's with the 179mm crank and it drops off a bit now that D/A's are in the 2000ft-3000ft with temps hovering near 90*F. The 187mm simply let me maintain similar boost pressures as winter driving (with IAT' to match now), at least 80% of it. I'm not sure how it will perform once fall arrives, not sure if i'll just be blowing out hot air due to the potentially higher peak pressures of the 187mm. I'll be keeping both outer rings to find out in the fall.

Shut the fuck up. You sound like such a hater.. When in the world did drag radials and beneficial DA's become a "negative".. Y'all are so f'ing petty some days.

One was there and it ran 11.4 on the 93 octane file. Any other questions?

Agree to disagree. AZ has become a bunch of old hens clucking about some bullshit all the time. Slap this guy on the back, give him a high 5 and tell him congrats on the awesome time and traps instead of having the DA police trying to rain on every parade like somehow the weather is this guys "fault" and XYZ member or friend would do better in worse conditions.. Dumb.. If you're at that point in your AZ/Car career -- time to call it a day.
