Copper gasket spray or paste is ideal for that, I use spray on the v-band joints and paste on the rest for my SSAC and it works great and hasn't shown any signs of leaks.

Runs well, but my paranoid mind wants to chase every little noise. I sense that I'm hearing a boost leak, but cannot find other evidence of such.

Got my NLS methodology down, thanks for lowering the RPM!

    Very rarely.

I've maybe only used it for somewhere between 8-10 shifts in 2 months. More so inquisitive as to what it felt like.

    Only launched the car once.

The final few pieces came in to complete the 18z swap.

Piles of spoke clearance on my of Work reps, so my current wheels should be similar. Looks like 17s would clear with a spacer and some trimming of the caliper.

I definitely have a boost leak issue, and I'm trying to chase it down.

I had been suspicious of a light whooshing noise that I occasionally hear between 15-21psi. Sounds like it is coming from down on the drivers side.

This morning was the first time the car registered a Positive Deviation code and hit limp mode.

My compressor was stolen so no pressure test as of yet. I decided to just rip into it.

APR bi-pipe so no TBB to suspect. Removed the lower and upper IC hoses, cleaned and inspected - checked out OK.

Dug in more and removed the 90deg elbow off of the drivers side turbo - cleaned and inspected and looked like new. Did the same on the pass side, it was fine too.

Used all my ratchet elbows and didn't remove but tightened up the pipes off the turbos to the inlets. These were new in April, so I don't suspect them to be torn, as I'm only on k04s.

WG actuators are not loose in any way.

Would it ever be something like the smaller lines that run along the inlets from the compressor housing? They'd hardly lose enough pressure to trigger limp mode though?

I did forget to check those at the compressor housing while I was in there...

    God ole f-Ing F hose!
Split right in the crotch. It was the 1st day hose, so I managed to get a few wraps of high pressure silicone repair tape in place with it in place.

I'll order up a new one with clamps tonight. You always forget the F hose.

This is how those hoses should be from factory. Whatever, it definitely works for now!

The thing just rips now, and I mean way faster than it has been since swapping turbos.

I think this little F Hose may be the root cause of my relentless chant "why isn't this car as fast as my imola was!!?".

May be worthy of a revised tune once replaced as it was clearly leaking the whole time.

When you installed the spoiler did you just use the supplied double sided tape or did you add to it?

I just used the supplied tape.
Doesn't seal 100% everywhere, but the thing is going nowhere.

Hey 18z guys - I'm having a hell of time bleeding these things on my own. Any tips to what order I bleed these things in?

I have been using a mighty-vac on the outside bleed screws and I'm not having much luck. Pedal is soft and goes to the floor...

Got the brakes flipped pretty quickly yesterday and they bled really easy. Great improvement over stock already, and there is still a lot of bedding in to go.

I swapped out the bandaged up F hose for the 034 one this morning. The thing is boosting like a champ! I have a feeling that the WGDC needs to be fettled, as it was definitely leaking while being tuned. Now that it's fixed, I suspect things are a little off.

    Next up - meth!

i hope you just swapped the bleeders and crossover pipes.

the calipers do need to remain on their prescribed sides (with piston size in correct orientation).

I was going to do that, but it looked like the crossovers had never been removed, meaning I presumed they had been installed in that orientation since day 1.

So I've made a booboo then?

swap the cross over and bleeders and mount them back up on the correct sides. the small piston 'should' be the first to touch the rotor (if that makes sense). You have them backwards.. I did that too first time around, it will probably lead to uneven pad wear.

There is a recess in the caliper for the crossover tube to 'sit' in (in factory orientation). You need to make sure your cross over is mounted on the side that does NOT have the recess.

    Damn it. You're spot on!
I just saw that the calipers are front mounted on a cayenne rather than rear mounted.

    That's my Saturday sorted FFS.

Boost adaptation will be way off after driving with a big boost leak. Reset the ECU to speed the relearning process.

Finally had a chance to get out on the highway last night, but only for enough time to get 1 FATS run in.

I'm a happy man after replacing the F-Hose. I was running consistent 4.1-4.15 previously, but knew something was up. Pulled a 3.63 last night with a full tank and AC on.
On the way back from the airport the temp dropped and it started raining. I ended up taking a few off/on ramps just for fun - she was spinning wheels in 3rd and getting squirrely.

Finally the car is getting to be more like the Imola that the parts were pulled from.

How does 3.63 compare to other K04 93 cars on here?

On the way back from the airport the temp dropped and it started raining. I ended up taking a few off/on ramps just for fun - she was spinning wheels in 3rd and getting squirrely.

Finally the car is getting to be more like the Imola that the parts were pulled from.

How does 3.63 compare to other K04 93 cars on here?
3.6 on 93 with pjk04's is right on the money

I need to try and get out to do some more logs.

I found out that my new N75 was acting up, which meant I was over boosting again.
I swapped it out for a spare and she is going like a beast again.

Does adjusting the WGDC have some sort of influence on the longevity of the N75, or are they hit or miss?

I haven't been paying too much attention to the Audi as I've had an itch for an old BMW again.
I thought I had cured the itch with a deposit on this a month ago, but the thing proved to have terminal rot of the frame rails :(

Alas, I cured the itch locally (and for alooottttt less money) last week!

Great. I have an 89 sedan I'm itching to get working on. But I've got a bike to finish and then I really should at least frame up and insulate my basement.

Mine has an M50 swap but the guy didn't do the wiring. It looks mechanically sound but its been sitting so I'm gonna strip it down to metal and see whats what. It for sure needs rockers and front fenders. But its probably the best e30 you'll find to buy in NL at this point.

Figured I'd drop in here to update a few small things.

I was having some odd surge issues, which of all things ended up being the coolant sensor on the back of the passenger head. Fixed that, and the world is right again.
I also gave the underside a complete clean and fixed up a blowing V-band.

My one regret with this whole stage 3 experience was not going ahead and spending the money on all new hoses and clamps. I used new 034 RS4 IC Hoses and have a jhm bi-pipe, but used stock inlet hoses which I'm always paranoid are going to pop off. Regardless, the car is going great although I rarely get to drive it on.

The e30 is coming along well! Everything underneath is now brand new/upgraded. Complete forensic scrub and repaint underneath while the outside still looks ropey.

All that I have left to do is finish reworking the B5 S4 APR exhaust to fit, and then she'll be on the road.
